"The problem," Rockets coach Rick Adelman said, "is not aptitude but attitude. You have to be mentally into what we’re trying to do. I don’t know what’s going through some guys’ minds, if they’re thinking about something else, or ‘I’m not getting shots.’"

I wonder who coach is talking about...

Maybe Brooks is just pissed that the team is 0-4?

Thus the reason he is busy putting in extra work.....he is not the problem with this team, he is doing a pretty good job of running the team, but overall, the team doesn't know who they are, or where they should go in the tight situations.

People who blame Aaron Brooks have no clue about what his role is on this team.

And honestly, I am not sure Brooks knows his role right now either....so at least you guys have some company in the room of cluelessness.

    So you're calling Brooks clueless?

Smartest thing you've said in a long time. I agree.

I think Brooks is one of the two most important players on the team, but I think he along with the rest of the team is still struggling with their identity.

Last year in the 4th, it was all on Brooks, this year, should it be Yao, Martin, Brooks, Scola.....they just don't know yet.

I honestly think this is 100% a breakdown on the coaches side of things for not making it CLEAR to all the players which is the first option in that situation.

So, in the room of cluelessness.......Rick Adelman and staff are head of the class......

If a team has a bunch of very good players....but no clear leader....it is up to the coaches to define that role......right now......not happening = coaches fault.

Folks who blame Aaron Brooks, have a very very weak understanding of the game of basketball....he is playing the role he has been given.

If you have a problem with how Brooks plays.......look deeper because he is doing what the coach asks......

And when the coach says..." I don't know what they are thinking"...that says to me...."I don't know what I am doing as a coach"......

Define the roles Rick....make it clear....it is YOUR job.

who said we expect AB to outplay CP3???

he has been in league for 3 years, he should have learned how to play D on superstar.

i do think AB haven't put his full effort on the court this season because he haven't got his dream contract from Rockets. it's not a professional attitude. i would like to trade him away.

    Really? Is this a joke?

Because I am still trying to figure out who could play defense on Lebron, or Jordan, or Wade.....I mean other guys try...but they still score game in and game out....why is that?

Hey, you know what? Maybe they are just really good.....

    Kind of like CP3......right?

Until the end of the game, Brooks and he were nearly even in production......the missed rebound on Yao where it went RIGHT to CP3 started the seperation of stats. ....and all those FTs late when we were fouling helped too...

Sure CP3 had more assists, he has the ball in his hands EVERY possession......

Wake up people...please.... try to see what is actually happening on the court.......it is not that complicated......but when I read some posts, I realize that folks just don't understand it very well.....

= coach's fault, RA should tell all players earlier that this team's identity is "RA's offense system".

= this tread is all about Brooks, don't mess it up.

that's RA's style to let players to play FREE. you used to support RA a lot while i was not that satisfied by his coaching philosophy.

so this team's identity is "Rick Adelman 's team" or "Rick Adleman's offense system".
    agreed

yes , he played the role given by coach but he didn't put his 90%-100% effort on it. if you look back last year how he played, you will see the difference.

agreed, our coach's reaction to quick change on the court is way tooooooo slow. i doubt if he is still energetic enough to be a head coach.

    agreed again.

uhhh, I can't believe you wrote that immediately after you wrote this:

What the hell does this mean? I mean, can I also say that the only reason Rondo and Nash have more assists than Brooks is because they have the ball in their hands EVERY possession.

hmmmm, I wonder why that is. Do you really not understand? In your words, "I realize that folks just don't understand it very well....."

This forum is no fun when the Rockets are losing.

Do you people seriously believe Ish is a better option? He has potential, but he's not even close to starting PG material yet. Brooks is struggling at the moment, and isn't a very good defender, but he's the best we have. He'll be our hero more than once this season. Ish cant hit a free throw, much less put the team on his back.

Stop overreacting and support you frikken team.

    That is all.

"REEKO_HTOWN: AB is the new Steve Francis"

AB the new Steve Francis? Seriously? AB could never take over a game like Steve Francis did in his prime...Insert Steve Francis, in his prime, into this lineup = playoff contenders. Notice, I didn't say championship contenders because Yao is not back to his original form and honestly, his best years are behind him. True, AB and Steve Francis are not true point guards, but at least Steve Francis was one of the best point guards that could penetrate and break down stout defenses. We have so much talent on our team this season, but we don't have a general that could bring the team together...

What does it mean? Come on, really, you don't understand?

It means that their roles as PG's are vastly different that AB's role is to get it up somtimes score it, and sometimes pass it to a teamate for them to get the assist, or sometimes pass it for them to get a shot, but he is NOT the every possession assist guy, that job is basically everyone's job in Rick Adelman's offense.

Wherease almost every one of CP3s passes, or Rondos are meant for their teamates to score the ball, that is their role it is a lot different than Brooks they have the ball in their hands a lot more often....all the way through the shot clock.

    They have incredibly different roles....

Seriously, I know you have to understand this HP, or I give you way too much credit....

When your team is dependent on a guy like Brooks to be successful, you know you're in real trouble.

The difference between CP3, Rondo and Nash abilities to get vastly more assists than Brooks has nothing to do with Adelman's offense. Are you actually saying RA would not adjust his offense to suit CP3? Conversely, if Brooks played for NO or Boston, are you saying he'd have vastly more assists?

So, you honestly do not understand why CP3 and Rondo have the ball in their hands a lot more than Brooks, hence more assists. You are actually saying this is because of Adelman's offense schemes? You really believe RA is that rigid to not design an offense completely around CP3's talents?

The only time this team looked like it had an identity was when Ishmael Smith played. He needs minutes.

I am saying that Brooks role is what it is, and that is different than all those guys you mentioned above.

His role is a scoring point,....look up Mike Bibby's numbers in Sacremento....

Yeah, they have the ball because they are better at passing it than Brooks.....thus their ROLE is different, and designed differently to fit their skillsets.

And they are both better than Brooks.....but Brooks is not that far behind them, at least he can make them work on defense....

Seriously, are you just here to argue, or do you honestly not understand what I am saying when I say their roles are different?

All of their roles are built around each guys particular skillset.

But Bibby has one thing Brooks doesn't:

    Testicular fortitude.

Yes, I honestly do not understand why you are defending Brooks by saying he has a different role than an HOF-bound CP3.

and, of course I'm here to argue/debate and read and react...in Clutch's system. Aren't you? I agree with you about Brooks. I like him. He should be our starter.

So, do you still not understand why I commented in this thread.

    because of this comment

Are you just here to patronize?

Do you not agree with me that CP3 would have a different role in Adelman's system than Brooks? Be careful how you answer this, or I will patronize you.

Bibby is a good playmaker who shoots first as opposed to a PG who shoots first and doesn't see the court as well.

Yes and he's the 4th best player on his team.
