The guy is BEASTING. I still don't think the Rockets are a playoff team and need to fill a few spots here and there, but boy, they sure are exciting to watch. Asik's probably my favorite of the bunch for so many reasons. Tremendous hustle player. Love the way he plays the game. Not that he's expected to be as reliable as Yao down low (offensively), but as he improves, just having him as an option to run offense through is really exciting. I look forward to his progress.
Love the big fella. He will definitely improve on offense in the next few years and start making those layups he misses now. Great work Omer. Him and Parsons are my favorite on this team now.
Beast and a even bigger beast when he starts finishing consistently and maybe even develops a post game.
Boy he is sooo good!!!.. and so much developing game in game out.... and so many people still underestimating him...he put Chandler Person in his back pocket, and many people on this thread think his ceiling is Tyson Chandler a week or 2 ago....funny how he took that elbow and continued to play like nothing happened!:grin::grin:
funny thing, Asik is so strong, that when Tyson Chandler elbowed him, it was Chandler who stumbled to the floor, not Asik, and Asik only shrugged it off and did not complain, if Asik continues to develop in this phase, Tyson Chandler would be the overpaid old version of Asik
Off topic. Are people confusing Tyson Chandler and Chandler Parsons? Can we stop calling Parsons "Chandler"?
Yup. Asik is a bade-ace. He's going to turn into every announcer's favorite center b/c of his fundamentals and toughness.
Awesome signing, and he is still young. Hopefully he gets consistent. In correlation to the Dwightmare saga, I think we found our own double double monster. Night'mer Asik
and considering that his contract is only worth $8 million a year ($25 million 3 year back-loaded right?) , definitely a steal,
I jsut realized that one of Asik's more glaring weaknesses coming into this team was foul trouble. In the 13 mins he played for the Bulls he avged about 1.85 fouls, which is good for 5.6 fouls per 36 mins. So far except for that overtime game against Portland where he fouled out, he hasn't had ONE game where fouls were an issue. He's avging 2.7 fouls per 32.7 mins, or 2.97 fouls per 36. Remarkable.
Morey explained to him over dinner that free throws are good and fouls are bad, not the other way around.
yup. time to extend his contract the guy is a beast. I'm actually worried we only have him for 3 years. If he keeps this up, he could demand a lot more than $8M/per given the quality of bigs out there.
