I'm not sure it is possible because Lewis is in the last non-exercisable year of his contract (or that Seattle would go for it), but the suggestion of Ray Allen, Rashard Lewis and Seattle's pick for TMac sounds pretty damn good to me. Adding Juwan's contract would make the salary match, but I think it would be more likely be that Sura's contract is the throw in. C: Yao PF: Hayes SF: Lewis SG: Allen PG: Seattle's #5 pick (either draft a point or trade the pick for a point) Bench: Battier, Head, Rafer, Snyder, VSapn, Deke, Novak, Lucas
McGrady + fillers to Clips for Brand, Mobes, SAMMY Pick up Francis off waivers C. Yao PF. Brand SF. Battier SG. Mobley PG. Francis 6th man: SAMMY Mascot: Mutombo MAKE IT HAPPEN
Why would seattle give up their two all stars. Plus they combine to make clost to 24 mil, and doesn't rashard have an opt out in 08.
Not that I want Tmac traded but if he was traded it would have to involve the Rockets getting an all-star caliber PG and either a legit PF or a legit, pure shooting wing.
Now that it is widely believed that JVG is retiring, we can assume there will be a wholesale shake-up in the Rockets line up. With salaries and cap space as it is we could not possibly pick up anyone viable unless we eliminate one of our super-salaries. Yao is probably untouchable, rightly or wrongly. The most expendable supersalary is TMac, because he shares the same position as our 3rd best player, Shane Battier. We need a point guard and a power forward who can run, rebound, and defend. A shooting guard would also help. I don't think we can add anybody meaningful to the team without dumping TMac's salary. And we can dump Juwan's at the same time. He played pretty well while Yao was out and his value is higher this year, than last. After two years in a row when his stats soared and plummeted depending on whether Yao was in the game, I think we can reasonably get rid of him this summer if we are to keep Yao. I doubt Deke will come back next year so we might want to keep our eye out for a back-up center that can play small ball.
tmac shares the same position as shane? tmac plays all 3 perimeter positions my man. PG, SG, SF. again, the only trade that would help this team if u want to trade tmac is if u get a great PG, a good shooter, and a legit PF. that's 3 key pieces that tmac has covered up. we know this team can't make the playoffs if tmac doesn't play. so unless u trade for ray allen/ray lewis combo for tmac, no trade for tmac is good. he does too much for this team. so how about trading guys who are 1-dimensional and get better guys. i think head can still develop into more than a jumpshooter. he's still young. rafer is one-dimensional. he can't shoot consistently nor can he finish in the paint. i truly believe mike james would be an upgrade. mike is also strong enough and quick enough to contain quick and strong PGs. SIGN HIM. chauncey or bibby is impossible to sign. mike james would have killed to have those open shots tmac/yao created for. get a legit shooting PF. hayes is a perfect off the bench player who mixes up the tempo. mcdyess is on the market but dont think we can get him. kurt thomas is another name. but no free agents is that good at this position unless we can do a trade. get more shooters.
Can't believe some ppl said tmac to lakers. Kobe + Tmac is a waste of talents, a laughter in the league! I think TMAC+YAO deserve another chance under a new coach, SHANE is a keeper as well. The season is not over, we cant really tell who will be available on the market, thus cant put up a proposal. IMO, we need to find a new coach first, then adjust the team accordingly.
The problem with trading TMac or Yao is that it is not going to make us a better team. Say for example the Rockets traded TMac+Sura for KG. Minnesota will not do it, but for the sake of the argument lets say they do. We have two superstars, wow, Yao and KG! The new twin towers. But it is still a team with two superstars and nothing around them. Not enough. Rockets reconstruction needs to be done with players different from Yao and TMac. And that is the difficult part... Our best hope for next year is that they sign a good player with the 5 million option and that somehow VSpan and Novak develop into NBA caliber. Not very encouraging...
I'm with you...If anyone needs to get traded, its Yao (but ofcourse people are afraid to accept that...and the fact that he brings millions of marketing dollars and fills the seats helps his cause)...I like yao but one would think if you have a 7'6 guy he'll be a bit of stud not a dud! Not have 6'10 guys grabbing rebounds over you and making you look like a robot. And lets not even bring up his turnovers and butterfinger hands!!!!!! I think its funny how there is no trade Yao thread (if there is please let me know and i'll post there)... Yao, Head, and 2008 2nd for KG and Mike James...and please sign a back-up SG over 6'2 this year!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
man u guys are so quick to give up not his fault at all last night dumb asses his stats were fine last night he and yao need help no bench at all what do you want him to do average 60 points a game 25 points and 7.4 assist a game is not bad, shooting percentage could been better but the rockets as a team could have shot better and on that note if the team would have shot better he might have averaged damn near 10 assist. With that each assist counts as at least 2 points and sometimes 3 which would actually bump his point average up if you were to calculate all of this together. They need to get some more people that can create there own shots. The trade that brought david wesley here is killing us right now just look at nachbar he gets to the hole and is knocking down shots. We need a coach that can develop our younger players also. Oh yeah when everyone bashed me earlier in the year when I brought up the trade luther head for corey maggete just would like to say I told you so. To many people are in love with the 3 point shot maggette gets to the hole and he gets to the free throw line at will plus he has a good size on him. Everyone on this team needs someone to create a shot for them so basically everyone on this team is a center because they all just post up somewhere either the 3 point line or on the block this really sucks badly. It's so sad that so many people point a tracy for this fault when it needs to come down to managment and our coaching staff for putting tracy in this situation. You know if they do trade tracy all everyone will do is complain about yao or who ever else is here with him. Look at managment carrol dawson and gundy for a lot of the problems we see on the floor hell if tracy does move on from houston I think I would be happy for him just to give him a chance to play with more athletic people. He has no athletes around him right now just quote on quote shooters we shot the second most threes as a team this year, just like everyone say about phoneix and golden state when the shot aren't falling you will lose. WE NEED ATHELETES TO HELP TRACY JUST CUT TO THE BASKETS AND MAKE THE GAME FUN TO WATCH MORE DUNKING AND LESS CAMPING OUT AT THREE POINT LINE
EXACTLY!!! If we can get a playmaking PG + PF, I say do it. For example: Arenas + Etan Thomas + 1st rounder, for TMac + Jho + Head or Alston or something ONLY reason this could happen is because Arenas got hurt this year, so both are hurt, + Etan Thomas HATES Haywood, they are always bickering at each other. + They get a scorer in JHo + Head which is good, but we get a big brutish PF, which we need (A Bigger Chuck Hayes w/ Physical). I think they would at least think about this trade, but I dont know if I want to give all of our trading assets in 1 trade like this.
I think Rashard can opt out this summer, which might make the Sonics more receptive to a trade if he looks like he'll exercise that option. They don't want to lose him for nothing. Also, Rashard has long been rumored to want to come to Houston. Maybe a trade to the Rockets would keep him from opting out. Still, it would be pretty suprising for Seattle to trade Ray Allen, much less their 1st rounder, both of which would probably be necessary to get the Rockets to go for this trade.
