Nope, Yao is BYC1 (just looked it up), so his trade value is only half of his actual contract. The only way to get it done is to do a three-way deal with a team under the cap, or just trade with a team under the cap. Some things that would work would be:

And how did Yao play any better? He's making a little less money, but that's it. He's no better at leading.

Like I said, all things are open, but don't start hating on T-Mac about his clutchness and then want to trade him instead of Yao..

This thread deserves a negative rating.

Tracy's the only player that actually showed up.

This thread sucks, T-mac played better than anyone else other than Boozer. Outside of Yao and Tracy, our team is pretty limited and that's why we lost. Sorry, but Tracy was >>>>>>>>>>>>>> Yao this series and should be our only untouchable

I didnt say "lets trade Yao", I said if we were to trade 1 of the 2, I would trade him. Tmac played his ass off and nobody else showed up for the playoffs, including Yao for the most part.

Tracy showed up, yes, but didn't finish Game 6 or game 7 with them their for the taking. His rep has not be shaken.

But personally I don't want to see him go. He has become too skilled and smart of a basketball player who gets many involved. Yeah he isn't a killa with all the marbles and takes too many low % jumpshots, but he is awfully special.

I would only trade him for KG (say with James & Howard also in the deal). Then we would just need to add another shooter/athlete wing in FA.

As for Yao, he is younger, ridiculously efficient, and should be at the top of his game longer. Yes he does have flaws, worsened by the kind of atheleticm around him. There is almost zero chance TMac gets traded, zero chance Yao does.

Tracy McGrady isn't going anywhere. Trade proposals for him are pointless because he isn't the problem and neither is Yao. It's on the organization to build around McGrady and Yao and put players that make their jobs easier. They work harder for the team than they should have to ... especially McGrady. We need to get another playmaker because Alston isn't one, a power forward, and a sixth man. We need better talent around them.

This is the best trade proposal! Yao is the one that 's got to be trade ... he was 9-20 FGM-A, only had 6 rebounds, 5 PF and again 4 TO! The only thing he is good in are free throws!

Imagine Howard and Ariza on this squad + a better version of Yao Ming ... Yi Jian Lian! Before you leave ... make it done CD!

We have "officially" created a worse thread than the Rockets played last night.

None of these trades have any freaking chance of happening.

Why would any team trade away every good young cheap player for Yao or Tracy and some scrub from our team?

Didn't they both just prove that even together they can't win a playoff series without any support players?

If another team traded all their good young core for either of them...they would have nobody left to put around their new superstar...

And that's if any of these deals actually passed the salary test...or the Rockets were STUPID enough to trade either of their stars.

    Come on...lets get real.

There will be no Bibby, or Garnett or any other superstar....Look for midlevel exception guys that would be better than what we have...that's all we have to hope for.

Or...somehow...if we can unload J-ho's contract on some sucker...for one of their bad contracts...

Here is a serious Trade suggestion....

Juwon Howard ($7 Mil) for Troy Murphy ($9 Mil...and $42 Mil left on his contract).

Murphy is younger, can shoot from outside, plays better D and is more aggressive. And...no more J-ho...which is worth $42 Mil all by itself.

Stupid thread, 1 star considering McGrady was the best player on the Rockets this series. Trade Yao for a better than average PF and PG and we'll have a better team IMO. Only problem is that Tmac is getting old. Yao will never be the 1st or 2nd option on a contender unless the supporting cast is ridiculously strong.

If you think Toronto would do that then you're insane. mac is a better player, but bosh is not far behind and he is very young.

Terrible. didnt Yao torch howard for 36 and 14 boards. yao is the better player. he was just exposed due to our shortcomings. since we had no Atheletic big PF to cover Boozer, yao had to do 2 many things at once.
