That was exactly my thought. We need a better PF, why not T-Mac for KG? Then we just need a good passing PG, and we're set. The only trade I would accept for T-Mac is another equally great superstar, and KG fits the bill. Probably won't happen though.
Whoever wants to trade Tmac is stupid. He has given it all and he's the lone bright spot of our playoff series. Tmac is here to stay. Tmac-haters should be traded.
To Les, Trading Yao = Paying huge luxuary taxes but not get any players in. More realistically, I want Yao to warn Les personally that if he did nothing this offseason to bring in another good quality player, he will be out soon.
Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure Yao is BYC, which makes it really hard to trade him unless it's with a team that's under the cap. With that said, as you can tell from my previous post, I don't think it would be that bad of an idea if we got a good deal.
I don't want to keep TMAC. His decisions at the tie game (88:88) kill our chance. He won't be a clutch player in the crucial games. (could be clutch at some regular games, but who cares those games.) I can't remember he can win any really important games. This didn't look like a 20 millions player.
tmac can veto a trade right? why the hell would he want to go to minnesota? he would then just quit and retire. he wants to win NOW.
bah!!! if the lakers had Kobe, T-Mac and just their scrubs (Smush, Kwame, Walton, Farmer, Radman) they would have beaten Phoenix. it would have been Jordan/Pippen part 2.
Just oppersite to Tiger's suggestion, insert Yao instead of Tmac, then it all makes sense. Houston got Odom as the power forward, Bynum as the center, and maybe Luke Walton or Smush parker for SF/PW and PG. It ain't bad a team. Adding those players to the 20-12 team tmac led in the middle of the season, I see a 50-55 win team. If Bynum ever develops, Houston will be a potential contender. Laker may even throw in a late first round pick to sweeten the trade. Lakers got Yao and with kobe it is going to be another interesting combo test for PJ. Lakers want change and I think they will be happy to take a gamble. Yao's personality also fits with Kobe. It might work. and I think it is a win win situation for both parties.
seriously..at this point i'd rather trade yao maybe we can get Yao for KG or something no Yao to the lakers because thats what most YOFs want aka qian
I agree. If I were to trade 1, it would definitely be Yao. Tmac played his ass off tonight, you cant blame him for the loss, not 1 bit
OK, it's come to my attention that I need to clarify what this thread is really for. So let me do that... I am not in any way, shape or form suggesting that the Rockets SHOULD trade Tracy McGrady, but rather that IF the team (hypothetically speaking) decided to go with that option (highly unlikely, I admit), what would you like to see in return. So let me rephrase here: IF the Rockets decide to trade T-Mac and move forward with a different experiment, who would you like to see them get for him in return? That's what this thread is for, I am not advocating trading T-Mac. So it's purely hypothetical. Just thought I would clarify...
Both of our stars played terrible. Tmac's FG% has been terrible most of this season and we have seen him quit at points during the playoffs. No one is mentioning how terrible his defense has been against Utah with people blowing by him likes he's standing in cement. Yao's rebounding has been atrocious and unless the refs call the fouls on people defending Yao (because they foul him all the time) he will become a non-factor for years to come. I dont know what to say about this team because I am sooo depressed right now but the Rox front management needs to shake things up. I would start with the head coach (JVG) and find someone that can teach some offense. What Nelly has done with GSW his offense brilliance and creative (unorthodox) defenses is awe inspiring. He tailors the offense to the type of players he has. J
trade tmac to the spurs, give him to the mavs. dont send him to another crappy team. even though i'm a rockets fan, i'd hate to see tmac being wasted away on some awful team. but trading tmac would be stupid anyways. especially for odom/brown? you kiddingn me? and so i'm assuming odom is going to be our clutch player to lead us back from a deficit. right with all those missed layups he had against the suns...and kwame? you think you're already frustrated with Yao's fumbling passes and getting the ball stolen? well then you'll LOVE kwame...and plus all he'll do is clog the lane
YUP, lets trade Yao, let get it done! If only you were the GM. YOF would be jumping with joy and the TOF would be......happy? anyway its a win win for both party.
Nope, you made this thread because you want to see your boy win in a different city. It doesn't matter about the Rockets.
