This definitely has the making to be the Mack's best class. We got a 5-star QB (who already said he'll redshirt), a stud group of offensive linemen (headlined by T. Allen).

Mack wasn't kidding when he said we would probably see the affects of the Rose Bowl this year.

Wonder if this year may start a UT-SC rivalry?

Sure ther are lots of teams and anything can happen in CF, but with SC's 06 class we could be on a collision path w/ them for at least a few years.

Take it from me, a current Florida Gator (Gainesville is just minutes north of Ocala) that Brantley will be a stud. All of us at UF thought we had a lock with him (he's a Gator legacy, right in our backyard, and his coach is former Gator Kerwin Bell). We're probably better off since he doesn't fit into Meyer's offensive scheme, but damn that kid can throw. He throws one of the crispest spirals I've seen at any level. He's a student of the game too with a very high football IQ.

I'm really excited about Brantley, he's definitely our biggest QB recruit since VY. I saw a couple videos on this kid and his throws are right on the money, get's there quick too.

You're right, Brantley doesn't really fit Meyer's system. Plus, ya'll just picked up Tebow last class and he is perfect for that option attack.

There is a DB from Cali that we are interested in and a DT from Detroit.

But look at this kid from Dallas Skyline. 6-8 407lbs!!!

#20 Michael Wilcoxon DT 6-2, 271-pound Aledo, TX.

On a side note: UT-Austin has 9 players ranked in rivals top 100. Of those 9 3 are 5* with several others holding scholarship offers. Most notably 5* DT
Marvin Austin, CB Eric Berry, and DT Joseph Barksdale.

I would like to thank Mr. Taylor for freeing up a scholarship this year. Look for a 25+ group this year.

Thanks for the update on the recruits.

    Is Taylor gone for sure?

#21 Brandon Collins 6'0 ATH Brenham, TX

Not ranked very high on the TX top 100. But he does have offers from Miami, Alabama, Wisconsin, and Oklahoma. He should get a higher ranking on the next update.

Mack said they will not consider Taylor for reinstatement right after the incident.

Very interesting pickup. The Brenahm newspaper (I guess Brenhamn has a newspaper :D ) has him listed as 5'10" 153lbs, that's pretty darn small for a D-1 athlete. But like you said, the list of scholarship offers he got is very impressive: University of Miami, Wisconsin, Purdue, Arizona, Colorado, Kansas, Oklahoma State, TCU, Nebraska, Baylor, Texas Tech, Oklahoma and Alabama.

    #22 Blaine Irby, TE/ATH, Ventura, CA 6-foot-2, 224lbs, 4.58/40,
    SPARQ 97.71

Snatched this kid from under Pete Carroll. Could play multiple positions TE,H-Back, and LB. Apparently cosidered by the U. of Miami the best H-back in the country. ...and he's white. WOW.

We just picked up Christian Scott, safety out of Skyline. Scott dragged out his decision for a very long time, good to see him join what I consider Mack's best class.

Man, I was gonna start a "National Signing Day" thread tonight for the UH, OU, Aggies, and that one tOSU alum/fans. Maybe I will....

Anyway, Longhorns hav a top 5 class this year and we did it with Texas kids. At least for the majority. Some commits backed out, most notibley FL John Brantley. This one kinda sucked coz we lost out on Mallet but hey... whatever.

That just frees up a QB spot for local H-Town product and likely 5*\Elite 11 QB Andrew Luck. You hear that Texans and Texnas fans, that gives you 6 years to think about no effing up your #1 draft pick in 2013 and going with the hometown, MNC ring wearing, Hiesman winner, and Longhorn QB legend. :p

Losing Brantley was a really big loss, not sure he will be a good fit at Florida, especially since Tebow is the PERFECT fit for Urban's offense.

With Colt, Harris, and Kinne coming in, we should be okay. However, if I'm Mack and GD, I would seriously start working Chiles as a QB. With the success VY and the Horns had, an athlete like Chiles could really be great.
