So the Cavs were able to compete with the lineup of death with Tristan/Love/LeBron//JR Smith/Irving.
Or Love/LeBron/Shumpert/JR Smith/Irving (5 guys who can shoot 3's). Throw in Jefferson and Frye.

Rockets could run Capela/Ryno/Ariza/Harden/Gordon or Ryno/Dekker/Ariza/Gordon/Bev (5-guys who can hit 3's). Throw in Harrell in place of Capela.

Now it gets tricky. Warriors lost Bogut/Festus and in the process lost interior defense.
Cavs lost Mozgov (shot blocking for speed). Both teams have come down to the
(now) Rockets level. The Rockets have one consistent shot blocker in Capela.
D-Mo has never been a shot blocker. Now Harrell is scratching the surface of the
rotation.....and looks good. D-Mo sits him more collecting dust when D-Mo gets
his endurance up. Harrell plays above the rim on setting picks and rolling for thunder
dunk lobs. D-Mo has never been an above lob dunker....but can gather the pass a
lay it up. Can D-Mo run the court at the pace D'Antoni likes. IMO Nene is "one of the reasons
the Pace is mid range per league stats. D'Antoni is not much on post ups. IMO D-Antoni
is ok with a player getting about 6 a game.....Ryno 5 and D-Mo gets 6 post up attempts.

So going back to the two elite teams. The Warriors are trying to see if Javale MeGee
can be that interior defender on the cheap. They "May" have the assets to pursue
    Noel or WIllie Cauley-Stein. MaCaw/Ian Clark/MaCadoo/Looney draft picks.k
If they get either Noel or WCS....advantage Warriors (also because their perimeter
defense is better that ours). It's the Cavs go after a Noel or WCS.....advantage
Cavs (also because of perimeter defense). Just my opinion.

Never mind then. Sorry for going off. I was going to say that the Rockets needed more than
Capela. In case Capela gets hurt or in foul trouble. One of the reason our perimeter defense
is so porous is because the perimeter defenders often need to be sent to the paint to help
more often then usual. The perimeter defensive stats would improve with another
shot blocking big man who can also play on the second team.

Welcome back to Houston D-Mo. My angle was for a trading deadline deal.
Morey and the Rockets may still be able to pull one off using Nene/Brewer/KJ.

It could mean that incentives in D-Mo's offer sheet that were categorized as "likely" for Brooklyn may be "unlikely" for Houston and/or that certain "unlikely" incentives in the offer sheet did not need to be matched by Houston. I'll need to wait and see what the incentives are before knowing for sure what the cap hit will be (or how it could be affected by D-Mo achieving those incentives). Unfortunately, it is VERY difficult to figure out what those incentives are. (Despite years of trying, I never got the info on the incentives in Luis Scola's deal from 2010.)

Oh, you should have asked me.

My sauces cans confirm, two of the incentives were $500k if he spun with the ball 1,000 times in the regular season, and $500k to make the opponent jump 500 times. 150% increases if both Achievements are Unlocked.

Apparently these were secretly to be paid in part by the Zerol Ice Cream Scoop Company

Looks like there is no need to dump Brewer's contract now! So quit showcasing him and give his time to Dekker/KJ.

    @BimaThug @BigMaloe

Got a response from Bobby Marks. Nothing you didn't already report in your OP.

I wonder what the bonuses are?

My guess is the 4m is for games played and the unlikely 2m is for all-NBA and allstar nods which I'm sure the rockets will gladly pay if he can become that level of player.

So basically we're paying dmo 8.75m a yr for 4 seasons.

That is a very team friendly deal.

Put it this way, he becomes eligible for trade without consent next year this time.

Paul George is an expering contract next season as is Cousins.

Both those guys make are 18m

Dmo is a nice piece you can include in that deal as well as a young prospect dekker and brewer or even Ariza with a draft pick. So basically if the pacers no PG is leaving they can get a draft pick and Sam dekker aw well as Ariza who's expiring and dmo who has a team option.

That's a very solid deal for any max level allstar who is in the last year of his deal and his current team knows he's leaving.

@BimaThug @Clutch We need an article explaining this whole match situation where Houston is not responsible for the bonuses that Brooklyn put in there, which is at the heart of this standoff.

Would be great for people to understand that we are at an impasse over money.

I read last night from either beat writer Jonathan Feigen or Houston Rockets reporter (ESPN)
Calvin Watkins stating that the Rockets matched because one reason was the Nets placed
safe-guards within the contract protecting the team from certain health situations. Perhaps
pay for play (# of games)?

So is the first year salary of $8,300,000 pro rated for all the games he missed, both past and future?
