Well, the Rams were on a blitz and the line gave him a little over three seconds to get rid of the ball. Carr should know that he's going to have to get rid of the ball fast in that situation.

I'm loving the 3rd down blitzing. With 4 lineman the linebackers are actually
    getting to the quarterback now.

Has Mario recorded a solo tackle yet?

I am really getting sick of watching carr. the pass protection isn't great but he creates sacks and he can't throw downfield.

and please leave mario in more...i want to watch him.

damn p buc is having some good returns.

Yes, he just did, but he also went brain dead on that INT.

I'm overseas and can't watch the game. Can anyone fill me in on how Mario is progressing? Is he getting more penetration? How was that tackle? And how did he go brain dead?

I didn't see that play but he did put pressure on Bulger a couple times. He would have had one sack or really close to one but the defender held him and got called for it.

He is being double teamed a lot on the right side since that is Bulgers blind side. So most of the time him and Peek are both facing double teams on that side.

If the pass protection isn't great, how does he have time to throw downfield?

Looks like Morency really listend to Kubiak if he wanted to have touches on the ball. He is just running Big time north and south. He has some great speed and Kubiak is right. If he hits the hole quick he has a lot of room to run.

Morency is looking great in the zone blocking scheme and I even see a little Clinton Portis in him because of his quickness. Great TD run.

Thanks Stack...I see that Peek recorded a sack himself. Is he still in the game?

Also, seems like Carr is having a bad game. Has AJ caught a pass yet?

Mario just batted down the ball while double teamed, and as I'm typing this he tackles the rams runningback behind the line of scrimmage. He's coming around.

That was a pretty nice TD run. Normally our backs wouldnt have finished that off, Morency really layed into that LB and won it outright.

Anybody else noticing how much of the QB's field of view/passing lanes Mario cuts off when he doesn't get penetration? He has some great reflexes and when he's in the middle he really makes it hard for the QB to pick his spots. He's going to bat down a lot of passes.

    Mario Williams Update:

1st Down - Deflects the pass
2nd Down - Pushes up the middle tackles the RB behind the line for a loss of 3 yards.

They have had Marion up and down the line tonight along with Weaver.

Looks to be an effective strategy.

sorry let me substitute not great with not consistent.

also can anyone help explain why our run blocking seems far superior to our pass protection? I am not that technically minded on protection and blocking schemes for the o-line.

Two totally different techniques. Some lineman are great at pass blocking and bad at run blocking and vice versa.
