Ask TB12 Will you admit the OL was very bad last year and they only made a half hearted attempt to upgrade the talent level. # Backups, Unless you think guys like Henderson are going to be above avg. I would be giddy if Davenport/Henderson can play at an avg level and dont get DW4 killed.
If he really would miss him, then they'd have paid him. Solder was rated the 32nd best OT according to PFF last year....and now he's the highest paid in the league, that's insanity. What this comes down to is a situation like when Texans "missed out" on Nnamdi Asomugha and instead went with cheaper guys like Manning and Joseph. In the end, the Texans made the right choice. I think Texans fans will be pleasantly surprised by the O line this year in comparison to the absolute disaster of last year. They've made several underrated moves to improve the O line and we'll see how it looks.
That poor oline wasn't the reason why Watson got hurt. Dude rolled up on him when he was stepping into his throw. Plus he finished the game. The report says he injured himself (no contact) on a roll out in practice.
Another funny observation: we've had a bad oline for a while, no one cared because we had nothing precious to protect. Now there is Watson and everyone is suddenly an Oline expert.
Dude rolled up on him because the line protection had once again broken down. So yes it was because of the bad oline.
Introducing your Houston Texans 2014 OL: Starters: Duane Brown Xavier Su'a-Filo (rookie who replaced departing Wade Smith) Chris Meyers Brandon Brooks Derek Newton Reserves: Ben Jones David Quessenberry Brown left via trade since he got mad at the owner. Xavier Su'a-Filo never developed, blame O'Brien and Rick Smith Chris Myers got retired Brooks left in FA since he got mad at the coach. Newton got seriously hurt Jones was reserve quality and left in FA Quessenberry got cancer You can blame O'Brien for Brooks's leaving and for not developing Su'a-Filo, but that is about it. You can blame Smith for last year's crappy OL, since the OL they broke training was destined to fail.
They didn't have him last year because he was sitting at home throwing a b**** fit instead of showing up to work.
Wrong. Dude tried to hurdle Lamar Miller’s block well after the ball was thrown and hit Watson’s after he landed. https://ftw.usatoday.com/2017/11/nfl-texans-deshaun-watson-injury-video-seahawks Stop making **** up.
The protection was fine on that play, it was just a fluke caused by an overly aggressive defender that continued going low well after the ball was out. Also, in that scheme it calls for the RB to make the block, not anyone on the O line so you could have had the greatest O line of all time and it would have ended exactly the same.
