Make no mistake, those guys aren't easily replaceable. Amendola who is very good in his own right was a great replacement for Edelman. That isn't just the system Amendola was very good but injury prone with the Rams. BB is great at finding undervalued WR's in FA/Draft. When is the last time you can say the Texans picked up an under valued WR in FA? Walter Maybe
S Tre Boston had early interest from Cardinals, Raiders, Browns, and Giants, but no offer has gotten close to what he wants.
The Boston Sports Journal's Greg Bedard passes along word from a "Bill Belichick-friendly source" that the longer Rob Gronkowski goes without committing to the team, the chances of the Patriots trading him increase. This is pure speculation, but it isn't the first time we've seen it, as MMQB's Albert Breer hinted at it as well in a piece on Thursday. Both Breer and Bedard are ex-Patriots beat writers with plenty of connections to the team. Gronkowski has yet to inform the Patriots of his 2018 plans, and some think Belichick could use that as fuel to trade the star tight end, who may be tiring of playing at a massive discount in New England. Bedard mentions the 49ers and Rams as potential suitors should Gronkowski become available. 29-year-old (in May) Gronk is the fourth-highest-paid tight end in the league at $9 million per year and has two years left on his deal.
Having Deshaun back from the start of OTA's with having no doubts who this offense is going to be built around will pay huge dividends. I still can't believe Deshaun did what he did last season when the entire training camp and off season was primilary focused on Tom Savage being the focal point of the offense. Now he gets a full off season knowing he's our franchise guy? With a better defense, offensive line, and more weapons on the outside. Watch out league, he's going to win MVP barring any injury *crosses fingers*
How much cap room do the Texans have left minus what they need on signing draft picks? Too me LT, RT, TE, OLB, CB are probably the five starting spots with the most urgency of an upgrade. It would be nice too land 1 or 2 of the BPA in free agency at any of those spots as well as using the bulk of the 5-3rd & 4th rd picks on increasing the depth, maybe finding a starter or two out of that group.
But doesn't he do that when we're in nickel (most of the snaps) and not when we're in a base 3-4? Don't need 2 OLB in Nickel.
But if you had an OLB better than Scarlett, you can keep him (edit:Clowney) where he is most effective. Even when they are in nickle, it is more like a 4-3 end than a 3-4 OLB at times. Not saying he (edit:Clowney) doesn't play LB, he does at times But we still need someone to play the John Simon role from a couple years ago.
I had a dream last night that we won our first game, and in the 3rd quarter of the 2nd game we were up 32-0 =) De-Celebra-Shaun Time!
