Wow just Wow - Why... You are running an offense based on Deshaun Watsons Skill Set, why is it so hard to find a back up QB that has similarity skill sets (why would you want to change the whole scheme if deshaun goes down.. I dont get it at all
this is a very dumb move.. Doesnt make any football sense.. YOu are basically tanking and have no upside if Deshaun Watson goes down..
We can always draft a backup in the late rounds or sign an undrafted guy. Weeden at least has knowledge of the offense for offseason working
you have to change alot of the offense with him (He cant move or scramble like deshaun) therefore you will look like a bottom half offense once again if deshaun goes down He couldnt even beat out Tom Savage ( but he will now be the back up) ok...
They know him well. I can't say I'm impressed with the moves on the offensive side of the ball. The defense is good to go, just need a bit of depth
The offense was changed afor Deshaun to exploit his advantages. The overall goal is to mix what Deshaun brings to the table with what OB’s true offensive philosophy is. The question is how good OB’s philosophy is. Most of Deshaun’s scrambling was to get him more comfortable mixed with bad OLine play. Yes if Deshaun goes down we prob don’t look good, but there aren’t any Nick Foles floating around there to pick up
I'd give anything to see Kaep in a Texan's uniform....I like Weeden but if Watson goes down....we're dead
I think the idea that your backup has to have the same skillset as your backup is overrated. Especially with this coaching staff that prides itself in game-planning differently each week. They changed the plays on a short week in Watson's first start vs the Bengals. Also very important to note that the backup QB in March is not always the backup QB in September.
