I was responding to Rocket River, he said that.

I agree Fitz sucks. I just don't see how putting in someone worse is a solution.

Ah, gotcha. The problem I have with that statement is that we don't exactly know if Case is worse or not. In fact, I think he still has a fair chance in stealing the starting job in camp and pre-season. Either way, we are in game manager mode now and Kubiak had no clue how to do that. Asking Schaub to throw the ball 40+ times a game last year was pants on head r****ded. When you ask that much from guys that can't handle it, bad things happen. I highly doubt BOB will ask that much from Fitz or Keenum so any comparison to things that happened in Kubiak teams are sort of invalid.

Do you all smell what im smelling? Please tell me again how this will work? What im reading is a rant of someone that doesnt know the difference between a 20 yard out and 3 point shot. First of all, we're looking at something that we have never seen before you cats kill me with all that matter of fact talk. If you had a crystal ball, you would be the first.

How much time did he have to throw...??? This is an older chart but notice that most of the quarterbacks with 2.8 seconds or higher are mobile quarterbacks. And 2.5 to 2.7 seconds seems to be the average.
    https://www.profootballfocus.com/blog/2012/11/07/signature-stat-snapshot-time-to-throw/

Case had some opportunities when he had time to throw (even if extending the play with his legs) and didn't always complete the pass. So either he has accuracy issues and can't read defenses quickly _ or he has a team full of possession receiving options that have a hard time getting open without the help of play action... Or a combination of both including Kubiak's play calling and system.

Excuses can be made for Case but mostly all unsuccessful quarterbacks you can find excuses for.

Of course a lot of it has to do with the offensive line as well but not every quarterback has a perfect offensive line...

No I don't have a crystal ball but we all have access to history, those so called facts that kill you, and the stats. None of that will tell us what's going to happen in the future but that's really the only information we have to go from to make a logical outlook at the future.

You're the one that's pointing out the schedule and saying what games we're guaranteed to win like you have access to a crystal ball. Please forgive me if I don't partake in your meal of "wish sandwiches" with a big glass of "hope" to wash it down.

We had other options available before
but this is what we are left with at the QB position.

Oh no doubt I have faith in my team. I know its a chance we won't be all that good but teams like Tennessee and Jacksonville won't either. My thing is if you can find some positive in those two scrub ash teams Remii, why can't you find some positive in your own team? Do you think our defense is better than these two teams? RC is a great defensive coordinator who did pretty good as a head coach, so he will be able to help BOB out if need be.

Yes I do think those two teams and practically every team the Texans face have defenses just as good ----> because those defenses get to play against Fitzcraptrick, Newton, and an offense with no speed on it.

The Bill Belichick coaching tree bares rotten fruit and Romeo was a terrible head coach. "Hopefully" O'Brien will buck that trend. But rookie NFL head coaches with limited experience taking over a 2-14 team without a consistently good quarterback usually don't have winning seasons their 1st year out... Especially with a GM that is handicapping the team.

The schedule is rated as one of the weakest in the NFL. Man the latest history showing two teams going from 2-12 back to the 10 + wins. So it is very possible the Texans could bounce back this season. And I never said guarantee in any of comments so do put words in my mouth. I just hope the prove you wrong so I can get this crow stew ready for you sir.

You sho do want me to eat your cooking... I think I'll probably starve to death waiting on that meal...Lol.

The Vegas wise guys make suckers out of people ever year. I don't think that schedule is going to be as easy as you think it will be and in the NFL you really don't know how hard a schedule will be until the season starts. But I do think that this year the AFC south can be won with 8-9 games. I don't think any team in this division will win 10 games.

67 days until the Texans first regular season game, but the NFL regular season starts in 64 days with a Thursday night game, I believe.

If the Texans get a dead cat bounce, because of their schedule, it's going to hurt their draft position, but it's totally worth it. A winning record, with a first year coach, would go a hell of a long way towards washing off the stink.

And it would cause all of the sad sack fans to knee jerk into overly optimistic fans talking about multiple super bowls. One extreme to another with those guys.

I get your point. But if we stink it up this year and end up with a franchise player who can hold down the quarterback position for the next 10 or so years out the draft would you be upset...?

One winning season vs 5 years of mediocrity... Or one losing season vs 10 years of possible being super bowl contenders...

Trying to make the playoffs so they can get bounced in the 1st round could possibly hurt the Texans worst than stinking it up this year and landing Winston or Mariota in the next draft.

What makes you so certain Winston or Mariota are the franchise QB's we are looking for? People said that about Bortles... Manziel... Bridgewater. Then when we didnt draft them, people started saying how "we didnt see what we needed to in them, didnt like them enough, not 100% sure they are NFL ready..."

Im not convinced the 20 yr old 2nd freshman heisman winner is gonna be a star in the NFL or if hes just another Manziel.. Someone who won the heisman, came back and was a giant douche about it and then people questioned him. (dont get me wrong, I love what manziel is doing, I think hes hilarious, but probably not gonna succeed in the NFL)

I will admit I havent watched too much of mariota tho, so he might be something, I dunno. I just dont like all the hype that ppl either latch on to, then criticize when it doesnt work out or we pass up on.
