A lot of things had to go right, and the Texans are flirting with a 10 win season.

I think most folks were in the 5 or 6 wins expectation for the Texans.

But let’s be honest, who thought CJ Stroud would play like a veteran. Will Anderson would begin dominating after it took him 5 or 6 games to get acclimated. And after a very average showing his rookie season, which ended with a season ending injury, who saw Stingley propelling himself amongst the NFL elite CB’s.

A lot of young players stepped up elite style. It’s very refreshing seeing the Texans with such an elite group of young players.

I'm going to systematically respond to every WE WANT KC! post in this forum.... No, you do not. Think about what you're saying.... now go back to September and I offer you the following Texans playoff game options:

    A. @ KC v healthy Patrick Mahomes
    B. @ Buffalo v healthy Josh Allen
    C. Cleveland v healthy Joe Flacco

We haven't invented a way to measure how fast you would've chosen C. A few weeks of Flacco playing out of his mind should not change that choice. The Browns have an elite defense. But their coach is not very good; Flacco is 97 years old; their best offensive player has been out since week 2......

No, no - you want the Browns. We all do. Their run is not sustainable. The Jets - THE JETS!!! - cut Joe Flacco. Seriously. We want no part of Patrick Mahomes, in Arrowhead, in January.

How’s is this even a debate? You ALWAYS take the home game in the playoffs.

The Houston Texans will make the playoffs for the first time in four seasons with a win at Indianapolis on Saturday night. A look at the scenarios and potential opponents:

    At Buffalo Bills...✅
If the Texans, Jaguars and Bills win, Houston would be seeded seventh and play at the No. 2 Buffalo Bills in the wild-card round.

    At Kansas City Chiefs...✅
If the Texans, Jaguars and Dolphins win, Houston would be seeded sixth and play at the No. 3 Chiefs in the wild-card round.

    Vs Cleveland Browns…✅
If the Texans win and the Jaguars lose, Houston wins the AFC South and would be seeded fourth and host the No. 5 Browns in the wild-card round.

    Out...❌
If the Texans lose or tie against the Colts, they do not make the playoffs.

Yes, all true - and I don't care! We do not want any part of Patrick Mahomes. People are losing their damn minds.

ETA: if the choice is between Chiefs and Bills - yes, I would prefer the Chiefs. But I prefer the Browns eight days a week.

Technically no, it's not. If the Texans and Colts tie, and both the Jags and Steelers lose, both the Colts and Texans make the playoffs. Colts as the division champ, and Texans as a Wild Card.

The Texans could still play in Miami, if Texans win, Jags Win, and Miami vs Buffalo ends in a tie, Miami becomes the 2nd seed, and Texans become the 7th seed, and they travel to Miami.

While you’re not technically wrong, September was a long time ago. KC is at its most vulnerable state since Mahomes and Reid arrived there, they have no weapons, and their defense is slightly overrated.

However, the Bills smell of fraudulent. They got outplayed by the Pats, beat an equally fraudulent road Dallas team, and seem to have some underlying problems between the staff. The Browns are getting by on fluky wins, playing backup QBs, and a heater from Flacco.

Tbh I’m not worried about any of these teams. CJ can carve up any of these defenses and with how well the defense has played when more healthy than not, I don’t see a team the Texans can’t beat.

I can also see the Texans losing to any of these teams, I can see them not making the playoffs.

Either way it’s been a successful year.

Playoffs IMO = Demeco - Coach of the year and CJ - Offensive Rookie of the Year

The only team that scares me is the Dolphins. They get into open field with their speed and it's lights out for us.

The team that hasn't beaten anyone good and feasted on cupcake teams. meh not much of a real threat to winning a SB or going far in the playoffs. They can be fun to watch though obviously because of tyreek/waddle

Nothing to do with how they match up against the other teams. It's how they match up against us. Luckily for us, they'd be without their top two pass rushers.

I don't know. We end up winning the division and beating the Browns, it's possible.
