of course. 4 in 18 is no longer in the category of a miracle or a God-send or anything like that. yeah, we'll need some help. but they've already been pretty cooperative
Look at the schedule fpr Philly, for Milwaukee, and for Cards and compare it to the Astros.. Astros have it easy
Last time the Astros came out of nowhere to win the WC was in 2004 which was an Olympic year. Well 2008 Olympics just finished; I have this weird feeling in my stomach right now
actually 2005 was the last year they came out of nowhere to win the WC. they were 15-30 to start that season.
True But that was early on in the season, and as far as I remember they had the WC lead a little bit after the All Star break and held on. 04 was the year when everyone had written them off and they went 36-10 to clinch the WC. Although both years were remarkable this year is more reminiscent of 04 than 05. If they actually pull it off(Knock on Wood) it will be more of a feat than either of those 2 years because this years starting pitching sucks compared to what we had both of those years.
ahhh..i misunderstood...good point. matches what i said earlier...this one snuck up on you. agreed entirely on your last point....given starting pitching, i never would have dreamed this. crazy.
It seems like the Reds have helped the Astros out in previous years in situations like this. Austin Kearns was quite the hero as I recall. Does anybody else know what I'm talking about?
We need a strong finish everytime to make the playoffs. 2004: 48-26 2005: 45-30 2008: 28-10 so far We have an easy schedule so we just need to keep on winning our games. Cubs/Cards/Brewers will keep beating up on each other.
Agreed...4 games back...Amazing... I said it before and I'll say it again...How bout them Reds...woohoo...
can someone post the complete schedules of Brewers, Phillies, and Cardinals here? so we can play a prediction game?
In deed. He destroyed the Cubs in a series while he was still with the Reds. It think it was 2004 and helped the Astros pass the Cubs in the end.
