Because when you put the ball in play, you have a chance for the other team (Rickie Weeks, in particular) to make a mistake and help you. Small chance, but given Weeks' performance of late, it's one I would've liked to have seen. In the meantime, man it would be great to have the Tejada of April come back.
No Matsui, no Lee, and the rest of the Astros get red hot? Hope things don't get messed up if those two return.
Odd stat line for Moehler, no walks yet no strikeouts either, lol. Can't argue with the fact that he was effective yet again though
None really. I don't know if they gave a time table with the injury but he's pretty much done since he had surgery about a month ago.
That would be good. Something must have changed in the past couple of days to make them a bit more optimistic.
You sure he was talking about Lee and not Wigginton? From what I've read, including an update this week, Lee has zero chance before the playoffs. http://www.myfoxhouston.com/myfox/p...n=2&locale=EN-US&layoutCode=TSTY&pageId=6.1.1 Wigginton's timetable to begin pinch hitting is this weekend to early next week, that's why I'm guessing it's him. It's his injury that has me worried the most too... Ty had really carried this team for several weeks.
More from Astros.com indicating it'll be at least another month: http://houston.astros.mlb.com/news/...t_id=3452247&vkey=news_hou&fext=.jsp&c_id=hou
Awesome. What's funny is on PTI today, they had a segment about the odds of the Astros making the playoffs. Wilbon gave 0, which I could respect, if it were a good reason -- such as the talent disparity between the teams. But it wasn't that... it's that there were too many teams between Houston and Milwaukee (Philly, STL). I sat there and shook my head at the TV, because they were all of freakin' one game apart... and now, less than five hours after making that statement, the only team in front of the Astros is the Brewers. Never ceases to amaze me how little research or knowledge ESPN folks have on a national basis. They could care less, really.
And yeah, it's Wigginton who can pinch hit next week... he had a setback. http://houston.astros.mlb.com/news/...t_id=3452061&vkey=news_hou&fext=.jsp&c_id=hou
