Re-work that O-Line Have to get smarter people in the room on the coaching staff. This team just shut down in too many big-time situations. I love the physicality, but we have to be much better mentally (neck-up game).
At the absolute minimum we have to fire the oline coaches. I doubt Bobby gets his walking papers but not making massive changes in the online from top down sets a dangerous tone that below average is acceptable.
Hannah and Cal have to decide whether they’re just content with winning a bad division and not doing anything else or if they want more. They have to think BIGGER
Every team needs backup roster-rotation-type players. So a few of those guys should/could come back, especially on the defense. Doesn't mean they don't want to improve there and elsewhere
Jayden daniels did in one season what cj will never do. I think it will just be easier to become a redskins fan.
Become one then, we don't want you if you are going to write off a QB's entire career after just two seasons, you were never a real fan to begin with.
Presuming none of other coaches get poached.... other teams will prolly be looking closely at our secondary coaches - OL Coach Strausser is prolly not retained Potential OL Coaches Corey Matthaei (KC) Joe Philbin (LV) could be OC as well Mike Solari (DAL) James Ferentz (NYG) former Texan player John Benton (NO) former Texans coach under Gary Kubiak Rick Dennison (NO) former Texans coach under Gary Kubiak Potential OL Assts Austin Gund (BUF) OL Asst Ben Wilkerson (NYJ) OL Asst* Greg Austin (JAX) OL Asst Also let's say Slowick gets a new opportunity... Potential OC candidates Klint Kubiak (NO) Scottie Montgomery (DET) Ken Zampese (ATL) I think Klint would be a solid OC with Dennison & Benton along to coach OL in ZBS techniques
Get a BORING o-lineman in the first round of the draft. Boring means: You never hear from him because he's not getting blown past in pass protection and he's not committing holding violations.
I'll always be Texans first, but I'll definitely be rooting for the Redskins to dominate the Cowboys in their division next year, especially if Deion becomes the coach. The thought of the media going on and on over that is enough to turn my stomach.
Where's Munchak? That's a dude I'd love to bring back to Houston. Would also be a good mentor for Demeco and Bobby.
Supposedly in Shanny system, our OC makes all the protection calls. If that's accurate, I'd like to have a savvy vet in that role vs the young guys we have. I'm also for picking up another 1-2 vet guards that bring physicality and attitude to our line. And as I said before, pay Munchak as OL/Associate HC.
I'd rather do this than draft an iol in the first with all the measurables for every other scheme except the one we run. My worry is Chargers, Bengals and another AFC south team picking them up.
