It's a little frustrating when we have players on our payroll who have been on IR and news about them falls into a black hole. Some of these, like Kenyon Green and Dillon Horton are labeled busts, simply because we don't know whether they'll be back or not. MLB at least gives updates on the progress and expectations on return time frames. As FA and the draft season is here, there is reason for disclosure because it affects both.
This just have to wait till voluntary workouts for update… I’ve also tried to look up kenyons Instagram but he don’t have nothing up to date
But I don't like waiting while we, as armchair GMs, are doing our thing. I just decided to coin a new phrase to more accurately reflect people like me. I am no longer an armchair GM. I am a Recliner GM.
Saquon Barkley started following a few Texans players recently......but I saw an E.S.P.N. ticker tape on Monday quoting Barkley as saying he loves the Giants and wants to play for the Giants until he retires. Feels like Texans being used
To me it feels like what you saw on ESPN was just lip service and the "hometown" sports channel wouldn't air anything different. Following Texans players on social media feels more real IMO
Feels to me like he is begging to be "Franchise Tagged" Do they get more money if they are with the same team x amount of years? Reason Siakim was telling teams not to trade for him. Longer tenure with Raptors would bring him larger payday. Don't forget Jimmy Butler played us like that before signing with Heat (following players).
But to franchise him again would be greater than 120% wouldn't it? Goes back to what the gentleman said, "would you let your best offensive player who accounts for 40% of your offense just leave?" "Get nothing in return." A franchise-n-trade......Houston isn't accepting Barkley at 150% as his pay, or whatever the increase is of a player (RB) franchised twice edited: I see it's 120% of last year's salary. 120% each time. Yeah a running back would love that. It's one of the poorest paying positions.
