That's because we didn't have T-Mac, who uses misses several free throws to lower the %.

Rocket got a steal in Landry for 3 mil. Same with Scola. That's 6 mil for two starting pfs!

just cant wait for tmac and battier to join the party.

Rox will be a real headache for all teams,
rox could go big with alston, tmac, artest/battier, landry/scola and yao.
rox could go small with brooks, barry, tmac, artest and landry.

Harris, real hustler, but cant buy a busket.
DJ, interesting few minutes, but would like to see him more.

About yao and scola, wait them get a few more games to tune them up. There's a major time change for both of them especially yao. It will effect them somewhat.

Dorsey- he played better than yao's debut. :) plenty of optimism there.
AB- need to slow down and not force things, but i still like what he brings as compare to alston.

    Good game,

    Positives:
-Brooks looked very solid, besides a few errant passes. I think with more playing time as the primary facilitator, he can be just as good if not better than Alston.
-Landry had no problem returning to his old form. Seems he practiced his outside jumpshot alot in the offseason. He will find that shot alot in the regular season with so much attention elsewhere.
-Artest looked solid, but had a low shooting %
-Luther Head played less like a shooter and more like a penetrator which worked well for him.
-Barry is going to make so many threes this year, can't wait!
-Drew alot of fouls and had a high FT% !

    Negatives
-Yao looked slow and didnt have much impact, can't count how many times he was blocked.
-Our defense looked atrocious at times. 3 to many highlight reel dunks by the Grizz.
-Hayes looked clumsy, possibly cause of the mask?
-Way too many dumb turnovers (rebound off Hayes leg, and pass through Alstons hands into the stands comes to mind)
-Dorsey didnt get much time, and got a technical lol
    -empty arena =(

Overall I was so excited to see a Rockets game, I barely cared about any of the negatives. I like where we stand. I can see Artest falling into this lineup easy and being a contributer. The cutting offense system still has kinks to work out, but looks good so far.

I am very interested to see which combinations are going to be the most effective, although from tonight I don't like Hayes in the small ball lineup Adelman was running (Brooks, Barry, Harris, Hayes, Landry), would like to see Dorsey in that mix for a while. The most intriguing lineup to me would be Barry, Tmac, Battier, Artest, Yao...which gives three superstars that each command a double team and 2 dead-eye 3pt shooters who will be wide open often.

    Good win, go Rockets!

Are you guys sure that FSN SW carries Rockets games?

When I checked today at 7:30 and 8:30, it was some sort of cowboy wrangling thing, and a Big 12 classic game, respectively.

Yes, where do you live? The station is 678, 678-1 if you have DirecTV.

I watched it on FSN SW.

    My take on the game:

-Landry with a great game obviously, and the good news is that the majority of his points weren't scored in usual Landry style off a Tmac pass leading to a dunk. I don't know if all of those jumpers he made were because he's been working on it a lot and its paying off or he just had a good shooting game. If that jumper becomes consistant he could compete for the starter job this season.
-FTs were solid, but more because the good FT shooters were getting to the line. Rather than only Tmac, Scola and Landry getting there you had Yao, Brooks, Barry, and Artest shooting FTs.
-The offense really looked blah to me. Although we weren't really trying to force the issue with Yao and Artest was solid but not dominant, so that could be why.
-We basically won that game playing our bench vs their starters. We were rolling with Landry, Brooks, Barry, Harris and Hayes towards the end of the game when they were playing Lowrey, Mayo and Gay. I know its Memphis, but its good to get a win in that situation.

Nice to start out with win! Too bad I won't get to watch all the games because I'm attending school in Waco.

I watched FS Houston's broadcast. For the love of God, can't they dump Clyde? Bring back Calvin, Van, or Bull, or try someone, anyone... Please? I'd do it for free.
