Stop calling it "preseason"... leave that for the barbaric sports.

In baseball, its spring training... and the head coach is known as the "manager".

I'm pulling hard for the first team... at least in the first couple of innings, in order to give Wandy Rodriguez as small of a chance for the starting rotation as possible.

Paraphrased from JdJO's (who's shown this spring that when he does *actual reporting* he can be very informative) blog:

Nieve was working strictly on fastball, got bombed. Game doesn't count for anybody but Lidge, per Garner.

Wandy started off well but he ended up performing the way we thought he would...sucking really bad...I dont want him in the rotation. He isn't bad as Redding but I would rather see Sampson or someone else get a shot.

Nice to see Backe on the field again.

It just seems so wierd to me, to see Roger Clemen's at the Astros practice facility in Kissimmee
, Florida wearing all astros gear....and yet, not making his decision whether to play for us again.

My guess is that the "personal services" contract he signed with the Astros last year (for the next 10 years) entitles him to be a "member of the organization", even though he hasn't signed a playing contract.

If he was at a Yankee camp in their gear it would be headlines.

In fairness, that's a much bigger story than him being in Spring Training with his last team and the team with whom he has a personal services contract.
