What a buzzkill. As streaky as the Astros have been in 2008, it's just as possible they would have lost four or five in a row, Ike or no Ike. I know that may not be a popular sentiment around here, but our Astros just aren't a very good team this year. I'll still be absolutely thrilled if they can win 85 games or more; that's better than the 80-82 I predicted before the season and *way* better than the 74-win pace they spent most of the season grinding away at.
Yikes. Losing a series to the Marlins is sad and infuriating at the same time. C'mon stros, let's finish the season with some dignity still.
Now, in addition to be known as "the hurricane that knocked out power for a week", Ike will also be remembered as "the hurricane that ended the Astros' 2008 season".
Exactly. To blame this on Ike is silly. The Astros have looked this pathetic at several points this season before Ike. They have just reverted to that crappy team we have seen over and over. They still need pitching as you can't really depend on anyone on the staff.
