If Lance is planning on taking part in the Home Run Derby next year, he should take Backe along and ask him to throw his best stuff at him. He'd smash Josh Hamilton's record imo

I have never understood why the Astros have never given up on Backe ! He has always either been hurt or just plain sucked ! He had no business out there in such an important game

good playoff games extended the guy's career 4 years. wouldn't be an astro otherwise, and no other franchise is dumb enough to let him linger around and suck like he has.

Here are some excerpts from a conversation back in May when I was predicting that Backe and Chacon would fall apart. I also felt, and still feel, that Moehler is not somebody we want on this team despite what he's done since moving from the bullpen to the starting rotation:

If there is a player on this team less prone to be affected by fatigue, it's Hunter Pence. Dude has boundless energy.

That always drives me crazy when I'm watching on TV and the announcer makes it sound like it's a HR... and it ends up being caught.

Nieve would be a great pitcher...

in batting practice for hitters that want to take swings at straight heat with no movement whatsoever.
