What have they done with the astros that started the year? Jesus. A sweep of the cubbies would be pretty damn sweet!
The defense has been incredible tonight, especially if you include the near out on Tejada's one-handed grab a few innings ago.
Randy Wolf has done a great great job tonight, but he's coming out to hit in the 7th after 102 pitches? I know our bullpen had a tough night last night but is it wise to send a veteran pitcher out for the 7th when he's already pitched over 100 pitches?
my guess would be, Coop knows that the Cubs have a good offense and a 3 run defecit, could be evaporated quickly. Probably better to save the pinch hitters if at all possible.
I just heard that Hawkins has an oblique issue on top of the Geary situation. Valverde is unavailable and Sampson, Wright and Brocail pitched last night. That is my guess why Wolf is still in. I did hear that Hawkins can pitch, if necessary.
Entry from the Astros official dictionary: tejadad (verb): to ground into a double play for the nth time in a single season.
While, I still sorta wished they had rebuilt the farm a bit at the deadline, I'm fairly pleased with what we've acquired since. We've acquired Wolf who seems like a pretty solid mid to back of the end rotation starter for next season if he continues to keep this up and Hawkins is pitching well enough to definitely land a Spring Training spot next year. I thought Drayton was crazy at the deadline, but maybe the old man has some sense afterall eh? lol. Part of it was his interview in 610 a few days ago, convinced me that he might not quite be senile yet .
You must have a different version to me. Mine says tejadad (verb): to ground into a double play for the nth time in a single game
Where's A J? I actually heard those great Cub fans booing their first place team after the 8th inning.
