Man, I didn't know Elarton was still in the big leagues. I see KC is starting Duckworth today.

Right? And how did Biggio get outvoted? Disrespectful! I voted literally close to 100 times if not more, online and at the games.

All five of those guys have been playing about equal this year. Granted, Nomar doesn't have the power numbers the rest of those guy do, but he's got them all beat in the batting average department by about 50 points.

Honestly, I don't know who goes to the All Star Game this year for the Astros. Ensberg has the power numbers, but it's debatable that Wright and Rolen have been better. Ensberg has K'd a lot. Those other guys are all ahead of Ensberg. Oswalt and Lidge have been good, but they haven't been their normal selves. Clemens is Clemens, but he skipped the majority of the first half. Pettitte's been terrible. Ausmus has a good batting average, but really nothing else to go with it. Biggio's been good, but Utley will get voted in and Uggla and Brandon Phillips have been having good years.

So... I guess the good news is it's Phil's decision. :D

Wierd how you could think that when the thread is titled CUBS not Chicago. Guess C-Town really does have special breed of fans.

Ausmus has to be there..so does Oswalt. I think Ensberg is ahead of Rolen (but behind Wright)..and Cabrera might have him if he's 3B eligible for the AS game. I'd surely take Lance behind Pujols and maybe Delgado...and 100% as the injury-replacement if Pujols can't come back in time.

Biggio, sadly, I think should be left off due to his road #'s and just the guys you mentioned.. although it'd be more of a respect thing like Cal his last year maybe.. (except Bidge probably isn't in his last year so I don't think he gets that yet)

    Cubs: 12-14 at home.

    Astros: 9-18 on the road.

This should be quite the epic battle.

No way Delgado deserves to be there, he has a pretty s***** OBP, SLG, AVG and OPS. Howard, Garciaparra and Berkman are all about even though. Still, I'd take Berkman hands down over anybody else outside of Pujols. Screw the fans, the world needs to see more of Puma!

If I were Garner I'd take Berkman and Oswalt hands down and give serious thought to bringing Biggio, Ensberg and Lidge with him.

Hmm... Ensberg not back yet, and Gar is clearly trying to induce the "Berkman effect" on Lane, like he did on Lamb. Also, Bruntlett is gonna get plenty of chances at 3B tonight with Pettite on the mound.
