it was funny. I was thinking of making "tone deaf communist" my new political affiliation. :D

To be fair, I was referring to all the zany **** audiofreaks buy that cannot possibly impact the sound quality. Idiots who buy "quality" digital cables are the worst. It's digital for gods sake! I have a sony surround sound system. It was on sale. Would I or anyone else really notice if I upgraded to bose? No.

    Quoted for absolute truth.

    Seems pretty capitalist to me.

I just spent $13.99 for a 4 pack of Gillette Fusion razors. You get a lot more than 2 uses out of them though. And I have a pretty thick beard. The Mach 3 is no good.

Pinot Noir is ridiculously over priced. So is Tequila.

And Bicycle helmets. A piece of foam wrapped in a thin layer of plastic. That will be $100 please. Thanks.

Pinot Noir is one of the most difficult grapes to cultivate and then transform into decent wine. They end up throwing a lot of batches out. But when it's done properly it is the ferrari of wines, IMO. And if you are buying real Pinot from Burgundy, then the euro-dollar exchange may be affecting prices as well.

    I got a "Giro" helmut for like $35 I think.......$100??

The most overrated, overpriced item in today's world is a college education.

Ever been to the Cancun airport?

We had a delay and were forced to spend $35 on 2 plates of greasy mall-like Chinese food and a couple of sodas.

At the same time, you don't want to really cheap it out either, though. In 6 months it'll be even worse, along with all the repair/replacement you paid for along the way.

Computers are never something I would go bargain basement on.

I'm an old guy, so almost everything to me is overpriced.

Think of this: the people who own the dollar stores can sell you a pair of plastic flip flop sandals for a buck AND PROFIT from the sale.

How much do you think Walmart profits from it when they sell them for $8 a pair?

And it's not just flip flops - it's like that with almost all the products in today's market.

But you young people are willing to pay it, so the prices stay inflated.

I'm pretty sure I saw some flip-flops in Wal-Mart that were under a buck. ;) It's those kind of prices at Old Navy.

I understand why Pinot is expensive, but the prices have gotten out of control. I buy it anyway.

Basically, the less helmet, the more it costs. ie. more vent holes = more $$.

    Tuition

State school raises prices and the feds guarantee that the student can get enough loans to cover it. State school gets more guaranteed money immediately and the feds get interest on the payments over time....they both benefit from high tuition, so i don't see it stopping anytime soon.
