Razors – The ones I buy (Gillette Mach 3) are over $1 per razor. Most non-disposable ones are equally as expensive. Seeing as how I only use them twice before chunking them, I’m spending over 50 cents per shave. Quiznos/Subway – Quiznos large sandwiches are something like 6 or 7 bucks a pop. No fast-food item should be over $5, no matter how good it is. Energy Drinks – Are these drinks really worth 3 bucks a can??? That’s more expensive than beer! Starbucks – no comment necessary…. Shoes – I can’t justify spending over $30 on a pair of shoes. Thank God for Payless.
Wow. Twice? I use mine upwards of 2-3 weeks. I shave every day and have thick growth. I suggest you stop throwing money down the drain. Use the mach 3 holder so they will drip dry and not get dull. It's called stoppin' oxidation, holmes.
I used to think that way, but then I realized I tend to wear/keep casual shoes for 3+ years. I love my $80 Keens.
A/V equipment at big chain stores like Best Buy. Wall mount for $200? HDMI Cable for $80? Come the hell on. Monoprice.com, how I love thee. Agree with the diamonds. Can't wait until you can buy a diamond grower at Wal-Mart. Frigging textbooks at college book stores...or for that matter, anything at college bookstores. Sunglasses that cost more than $10. Hot wings are insanely priced. It's not even a premium piece of chicken, for pete's sake. Salads.
3 replies and no "women" response yet? the board is slipping. anyway... I thought too that shoes were no big deal until I kept hurting my ankles playing basketball. I bought a $100 pair of Nike Basketball shoes and I've had no problems since.
Almost all furniture is overpriced. Especially since most of it is mass made in China or Malaysia now. Not hand crafted in the Carolinas. I watched a Modern Marvels or some show like it about the process for making modern razors. I can kind of see why they cost what they do. Chik-Fil-A is too much. Diesel. It should be cheaper than unleaded.
anything beyond the price it deserves, like a pair of limited edition Jordans that cost over $200 because stupid kids driving up the prices
Gas: We have a glut of supply and still pay $3.50 gas... Clothes: I never pay full price, but I see people pay $100 for a pair of jeans...c'mon, they're jeans... Fogo de Chao: $50 per person for dinner, really?
Glasses and sunglasses - $200 for 1/2 an ounce of steel and plastic? Golf clubs (oops did I say that?) - $30 worth of parts sells for $400 Clothes - Walmart $9.99, Brooks Brothers $199.99 Cars - there is little difference in utility between a $29,000 car and a $290,000 car....they both go the speed limit. Wedding Dresses - $3000 and she wears it for 2 hours. Restaurant Wine - $9 at the store, $30 at the restaurant...why?
I was specifically asking about his comment about sofas. A $1000 sofa that lasts 20+ years in not expensive.
They tend to cost more than they should because of piracy. In a perfect world where no one pirated software, movies or music, I believe the cost would come down dramatically.
