Whenever the "greatest players of all time" threads come up, I always, ALWAYS mention Len Bias. I have no doubt that he would've been one of the greatest players of all-time.

However, he wasn't unlucky. Like Lucas, Lloyd, and Wiggins, Lenny Bias did something stupid. Knee injuries or face punches are unlucky. But being suspended, waived, or killed as a result of drug use isn't. While Bias' death was tragic, he died because he chose to go to a party and do drugs.
That's not bad luck. Bad luck would be if he was mistakenly killed in a drive-by shooting. Bad luck would be if he was killed by a drunk driver. Bad luck would be something you have no control over.

I was thinking of him too. It was great that he got a chance to get to the NBA but he was a shadow of what he had been before the Iron Curtain fell.

I agree though with the earlier comment that everyone who has ever made it to the NBA is lucky. Consider how many people around the World play basketball compared to the miniscule fraction of a fraction of 1% that make it to the NBA.

How is Eddie Griffin unlucky? He fcked up his life! Getting to play in the NBA is a dream job, but he let it slip. Then he got another chance with the Wolves. Still, he figured it was better to beat his girlfriend, get drunk, and commit suicide. Smart guy.

    Kermit Washington.

he was embroiled in a fight, in mid-court, with Kevin Kunnert. Rudy T, from the other end of court, dashed to mid-court intending to stop the fracas. Washington, in the middle of that fracas, saw someone coming at him reacted intinctively. Rudy ran into Washington's punch.

Washington has been cruxified by fans / blackballed by the NBA (for any coaching / scouting positions)

I think part of the reason why he has gotten so much grief is that why Rudy T has forgiven him he hasn't apologized.

The unluckiest player to have ever played in the league in my opinion was Earl "The Goat" Manigault. Tragedy

Michael Jordan was unlucky. He only won 6 championships.. he could've gotten at least 8.. in a row. How unlucky.

Even Horry has more championships... shame.

T-Mac... to date, he gets mentioned in more stupid trade discussion threads than any player in league history.

    And it's all on Clutchfans!
