I have no chip on my shoulder. I work with grads from all these schools including the top international ones. I've met brilliant guys from Texas State, and worked with bozo's with HBS MBA's. I'm just offering a different perspective when it comes to higher education and university rankings. I never said Texas was better than Rice (except in football), I said that for students like myself, Texas was a better fit.
US News and Princeton Review are still at the top as far as looking at rankings go. That's what pretty much everyone looks at.
There are like 30 schools in the AAU and a lot of them aren't near the top of these lists. I don't get what matters and what doesn't. I think jobs matters. Who puts the asses in jobs. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Association_of_American_Universities
