I think block style lettering for the jerseys would be the best way to go. Nothing too crazy. Kind of like Dallas' font
This was my uniform suggestion back in the beginning of February, and I still think it is an idea worth looking at: Personally I would like to see the Rockets make a variation of the Olympic jerseys that Team USA wore in the 2000 Olympics. I thought the style of the jersey was great. On the blue jersey, or road jersey, they could put "ROCKETS" in red letters with white trim where "USA" was at, and the white or home jersey could have "HOUSTON" written in blue letters with red trim. I've drawn it, and I think it looks good, if I can find a scanner, I'll put it on my next post. And as for the option of a third jersey, hell same style as the ones listed above with red jerseys, either blue or white lettering, etc. And the new logo could be placed on the back of the jersey at the top (kind of how the Mavericks have their star above the number). I think if the Rockets did this it would be the best jersey in the league, and it would be a classic one just like the Celts, Bulls, and Lakers that just have the name, nothing too flashy, no pinstripes (thank God), just simple, just like how it used to be. Unfortunately I no longer have the design of it that I made, however, the Rockets logo should be simple like the one TNT uses when they update the scores or show draft positioning, it is just a basic silver rocket, no teeth, no eye, no smile, no stupid colored red point, just simple. I believe thats what the Rockets need to get back to simplicity on and off the court.
Wooo, crap I hate that gold color! But, I am a fan of more of a retro look. I don' care for logos on jerseys either. I tend to like simple writing in nice, clean fonts and sharp colors. I'd be really cool with mostly red and blue/gray accents. That would be pretty damn cool looking. If you have to have some logo, put it on the stripe of the shorts and make it small.
Just sent my email. FWIW, I wrote that I wanted to see the Rockets start over completely and develop a unique, yet classic, look and logo. I would even like to see a new color scheme. Blue & red, while cool, is a bit over-done. And, please, no black, another cool but over-done color.
I like Dallas' new uni's but why the hell does it say Dallas on the jersey at HOME and on the ROAD? I would think they would want Mavericks somewhere on there. The Mavs logo sucks and looks like too similar to the Sacramento Kings and/or the Detroit Pistons.
I like the old Red and Mustard...er.. gold just make it more Red and blue like it is now With gold Accents [Mainly Red . .. away mainly blue] Rocket River
If this could be done well, I might actually agree with you. But the question remains, what color/scheme would be appropriate for the team and city?
