Reverse the colors of the base so it's red in the back and blue in the front contrasting with the logo.

This confirms to me it's going to be accent color. Might as well just call us the Houston Titans, because that's going to be the color scheme.
I really dont want to see some lazy recoloring like the 90s nba logos that didn't ditch the cartoon logos, only recolored in classic colors. Our logo makes no sense with the nu luv ya blu. I'm fine with it as an accent with a completely new design. Just fix the shade of red. it's too wimpy. The red helmet is a fierce red that makes our jersey and accent red look even worse and wimpy with hues of pink.
It's the same red. The difference is that helmets have a finish applied to them that doesn't happen with fabrics. I love the battle red and I'd be perfectly happy if we adopted that as our primary color. Unfortunately it doesn't work as well when paired with Columbia blue. Deeper/darker reds work better with that lighter shade of blue. Brighter reds work with darker shades of blue. It also seems to fight with the logo a bit.
