Not the right thread, and I really don't care what the answer is, but I was talking to a Coog/Horn grad yesterday and he asked "do you think there are more UT or UH grads in Houston? I said "huh?"
These battle reds are legit, but they would look worlds better if they went anti-Oilers with them and used H Town Blue instead of the deep steel and made the helmet horns solid. Would likely be the best uniforms in the league. Hell, they should lean into the anti-Oilers theme and go full time red with an H Town Blue accent. Hopefully that will happen in the near future.
On all the unis, I actually liked the standard uniforms first. Alternates are cool. But the ones we'll see most often, need them looking good. The darker blue works, looks more serious. The white unis are sharp. Well done there. The H-Town uni, the color scheme is tough. Nice work. I didn't like the H at first. The font looked a too old fashioney & out of place. I see people's gripe that the H should be a secondary graphic. But I've warmed up to it. A big fat unapologetic H for the city as main image, I'm down with that. The battle red unis are alright. The horn on helmet is great idea, I love that. I just don't care much for the actual horn design used. Too dark, doesnt stand out. Should have used white on it to make it pop, IMO. But it does fit beasty bull form more. Some tweaks and it's awesome
I've seen a couple pictures of this today. Makes me think it's a legit alternate? How did we get away with that?
dtexanz is a photoshop junkie. I don’t think it’s legit. Amy would definitely sue over the Oilers stripe. But they really do need a white helmet. (Dare I say maybe even make it the primary.)
I saw it on a picture from a different angle, with a different background though. (Other helmets as the background). I'll see if I can find it.
Ok now having seen all of the uniforms in games, how would you personally rank them, favorite to least? Also feel free to grade them if you wish. Just curious after seeing them on the field for a season now how others see them.
1. All red (and dying to see the red helmets used with other combos, like the all white) 2. Deep steel blue 3. White 4. Htown. that’s just my thoughts with on the field/tv look. The Htown is my favorite jersey tho.
Commissar, I'm begging you once again. Allow teams to mix and match all of their uniforms without limitation!
........... I don't really like any of them. I think the navy is way too dark, and, generally, I'm not a huge fan of dark-on-dark - the H-Town combo is *OK* because the lighter blue is a nice contrast but I LOATHE the steel blue/steel blue combo. It is incredibly uninteresting, IMO. And the horn design on the red & white shoulders doesn't work for me at all. If I had to choose 1. white-on-white is probably my favorite 2. standard home/away combo 4. H-Town blue - - - - 5. Red (like, a million -) 1,780. steel blue/steel blue I can't remember - was the light blue originally intended to be part of the primary uniform & the Titans killed it? That would've helped immensely. H-Town blue jersey on white pants/same design applied to white jersey with H-town pants would've been great. Then they'd have H-town blue/blue with the H helmet, which is OK, and then I'd feel better about red/red.
Personally I’d say this : 1. Away White - solid 8/10. I think it’s the right blend of personality with the horn accents but not too crazy 2. Red Bull - 7.9/10. I want to like these best, but the different color helmet and uniform always throws me. Make them match. Agreed it’d be cool to see the bull helmet with other looks. 3. HTown - 6/10. It’s ok and I like the attempt at personality, but it feels like the more blue rumored to be nixed last minute cause a few weird final decisions. The H grew on me, but the colors could probably be better handled. 4. Home blue - 4/10. It’s too dark and the old logo bull on both the helmet and the shoulder feels unnecessarily redundant. If it’d been a tad lighter and the bull horn motif on the white had been done on this one, it’d have felt more put together.
1) Battle Red (Incredibly slick) 2) Htown (I LOVE the helmet) 3) White (Pretty good for white unis, bull horns add a lot to it) 4) Regular (Slightly improved, color is better, but still boring jersey)
1) Home jersey - my favorite out the set. Traditional and i like the tv numbers. I’m a sucker for sleeve logos so I’m glad we did that with the homes. 2) Away White - Clean, simple. Glad they went away with the red numbers. Shoulder horns grew on me as the season went on. 3) Battle Red - I personally don’t like the all red look. White pants and red socks should be a much better look. Not feeling the blue numbers on the jersey, should have just left it white….much easier to read than the dark blue. 4) H-Town - I don’t like these at all but i do like the H logo, should have at least had a white helmet so the logo would pop.
1) Deep Steep Blue - didn’t like this one as much when the unis were revealed but I see they wanted to do and I love it. 2) Battle Red - my name says it all. I just love the red. Wanted the horns different but I’ll take it. I think Battle Red day at NRG makes the fans wild. Haven’t been to a Battle Red game in person but looks alive on tv. 3) Htown Blue - love this just wished they did the horns on this too. I can see more Htown blue in the future. I love it so much. Sting jersey only one I have of the new design. 4) Liberty White - I like this a lot and the only reason why it’s last is because of the leaked photo before the actual reveal. I still see the weird model and it makes me vomit. Other than that, I like it. White helmets in the future will be crazy.
