I could be wrong, but I think alternate helmets can only be worn with alternate uniforms, ala the red helmet only being worn with color rush (the best combo, imo) and the red jersey. If that is the case, this helmet could only be worn with the red jersey it's made for, and the color rush as well. Which is interesting, because I don't think it'd go with the color rush at all. I think there may be a small chance that rather than steel blue, those horns are H Town Blue. Or that they're steel blue with the H Town outline, like that alternate bull logo. That's a complete guess, but I'd love to see the mock up of it. That would enable it to go with either alternate jersey, and would also be insanely cool.
Yeah I know there are rules about how often things can change (5 years from recollection?). But intellectual curiosity makes me wonder if the Texans end up loving a color rush or alternate version to want to make it primary, what does that timeline look like? If the fans just go nuts over the bull look but we want the helmet to be primary, I’m curious if that still takes the 5 year wait or is an easier flip. I also think that folks upset over some of the choices can now likely safely assume things can and will change. It always takes the first one. Now that they’ve opened Pandora’s box, it won’t be another 20 years before they change certain things up. They were going to miss on a few/lots of things. Let’s hope they continue to listen and correct.
H Town blue is essentially a light shade of blue in reference to the former professional Houston football team that was here for over 3 decades. My guess is the battle red and H Town blue will be the fan favorites of the new jerseys. So glad I bought my authentic retros though! (Stroud/Dell)
No one said anything racist. If you think calling something trashy, means it’s racist that’s a you problem
You called it street trash and equated it to drinking lean because YOU don’t like something. If it walks like a duck, and quacks like a duck…….
No I said that font is associated with trashy culture, because it is. None of what you said was said.
Sorry, you are literally the person that said it represented Slab culture/Houston rap culture. None of that is synonymous with Diplomas or higher education.
I was at a poker game with some carnales this weekend. They stood on the table for the alternates. Their only concern now is referees targeting only us for running ghost motion and not the Dolphins or any other heavy motion teams. (The H on the sleeves would have been gold)
