My suspicion is a few things. 1. These are true believers who believe it is their mission to spread what they believe is the truth. There life offline isn’t really that great and this is escapism and gives them a sense of validation to have a persona online. 4. They are trolls who enjoy trying to get a rise out of people. For many it seems like that this might be the only site that they get exposed to differing political opinions and this site is the best way they can “own” those who they ideologically oppose.
