Why do you reds in the poor states keep stealing us blues' "socialist" tax dollars then and feed at the government trough to an overwhelming extent? Welfare queen states and regions like Alabama and rural Georgia really milk the system for hand out after hand out. You're the "freedom based" ones? Right...freedom to siphon. I guess when you have a less educated, less wealthy populace that is your only recourse.

You know bamaslammer, nobody is stopping you or your fortified compound from seceding. I'll gladly alert the ATF on your behalf if that's the case.

Figures, if you can't debate intelligently, just say your oppenent hates america. Who really hates america? The people with dissenting views, or the ones who want to squash all debate?

Either that or make up a bunch of stuff, film it and call it a documentary. :)

He gives facts then gives opinions based on those facts. You guys can't tell the difference between opinion and fact anymore.

Moore will say "Bush was on vacation." There's the fact. Then he'll say he thinks that was a terrible thing to do not long after 9/11 when he should be diligently at work.

Now you can come in and say, "I disagree, he can work while he's at his ranch or Camp David, he can still meet world leaders at these places, it doesn't matter." Apperantly though, it's too freaking hard to actually think and debate the opinion when you can easily claim he's lying.

I don't know crap about the new one, but the last one had a bunch of made up stuff.

But the smiley indicates a joke. Just like Michael Moore will, at times, stretch the truth or abandon it completely to make a point, I have chosen to do the same. My point, though, was simply to give a funny line. I'm not saying that Moore always lies. I'm just stretching his penchant for not being truthful in the past (and the present in the hyping of this particular flick) into a potentially funny line.

Well, when you read something like "let's kill dem der lefties, it'll make amerika better," it puts you in a cranky mood and shuts the sarcasm detector down.

Wait, have you seen the movie yet? I thought we weren't allowed to debate a movie we haven't seen yet.

My wife, a fellow political junkie, (and not a Rocket junkie, sadly, just a fan) is dying to see it. I guess that means we will, although it depends on when we can get a baby sitter. I would like to see it, but there's a lot of movies I haven't been able to see. This is just one of them.

Honestly, the fact that they're saying it'll be coming out on DVD in September or so turns me off from trekking to the theater to see it. I figure I'll just rent it if I ever see it at all.

To be perfectly honest, I don't like watching these sorts of things. The same reason I don't listen to political talk radio or watch FOX News or any of the other opinion shows out there on cable turns me off from something like this.

I love documentaries, too, but I like the subjects to tell the stories themselves (and I realize the story is shaped by the director/editor, but I still prefer them that way) rather than setting up stunts and doing a voice over (especially when said voice over is often quite snarky).

It doesn't have to be direct interviews or anything like that. I can be through speeches or stuff that's appeared on television otherwise or whatever (though make the effort to paint an accurate picture instead of taking bits and pieces of speeches to make something that isn't even representative of the truth).

It's not that I am not interested in the things that Moore highlights because I am. I just don't like the way he goes about highlighting them.

I'd rather read a book or news articles talking about the same issues. So, chances are, this one isn't going to make it on to my "movies I've seen" list.

Truly, I haven't been able to get worked up about it. I already believe Bush is a, well... fill in the blank. I don't think I'm his targeted audience.

You get credit for trying, but that 2nd post of mine you quoted was about Bowling For Columbine, which I have seen.

Good thing you used the confused smilie because you really were.

I'm curious to see the movie but I won't. Last thing I want to do is put another couple bucks in Moore's wallet. God knows he'll spend all that cash at McDonalds and probably make a documentary about how Bush has ties to McDonalds and has been trying to kill him by forcing him to eat 12 Big Macs a day.

God, can't you people detect a bit of the tongue in cheek? Geez, lighten up. But I will admit, if California was to fall off into the sea or be taken over by Mexico (which it basically is), it wouldn't hurt my feelings any. Well, Sam, why are you b****ing when you support the further expanding of that same trough! Unbelieveable. And I detect more of the leftist elite "those bastards down south are a bunch of uneducated simpleton" nonsense. And you wonder why most people down here despise the left coast and the Northeast? Because you perpetually traffic in antiquated stereotypes.

I have the solution: Go buy a ticket to see WHITE CHICKS then sneak in to see Farenheit. This way another movie gets your money and Moore gets NONE of it!!

I'm even less interested in seeing the Wayans Brothers get my money.
