Unexpected places where you hear mentions of the Rockets

    Yesterday I headed over to my Uncle's house and he's watching TV.

    :cool: : What are you watching?
    :) : A Lifetime Movie.
    :confused: : The hell....
    :) : These things suck you in!

    So I sit down and see this dude hop out of a limo and start walking to a courthouse and he's hounded by reporters. Apparently he's the bad guy. They start asking him all kinds of crap and he replies with,

    "All I want to know is how are the Rockets going to do tonight? Goodbye!"

    The movie was Sleeping with the Enemy starring that brunette chick from the original 90210.

    Another time I heard a mention of them was on the old show New York Undercover. The two main characters were arguing about the Knicks and how they were going to win it all.

    Then the Captain chick interrupts them and says,

    "Quit arguing, Hakeem and Clyde are going to take the Rockets all the way this year."

    Haha i was watching Everybody Hates Chris and he apparently found that he has a knack for predicting games and in 2005 he predicts utah over houston and he's like houston has yao and tmac but the jazz can run and play transition D

    One kid asks who he's pulling for in the playoffs, he responds with "the Lakers"... the other kid says "the Rockets". I don't remember if he said he said something about Olajuwon or not - he may have.

    Wasn't there a scene in White Man Can't Jump where they're watching a Rockets game on tv? Maybe I'm mistaken.

    Dank Akroyd is playing the sitting president and he is on his morning jog. He is given a basketball team hat or something and he replies "no thanks, I'm a Houston fan"

    Roger Clemens' Attorney Rusty Hardin appeared much more concerned about the NBA's Rockets than his prominent client who is known as Rocket, Roger Clemens.

    Hardin, was quite disappointed Tuesday when he learned that Rockets center Yao Ming had suffered a season-ending injury.

    "That kills me," he said. "That's the worst news I've had in weeks."

    Those comments are interesting from a man who might receive a letter any day now from the Justice Department seeking to investigate whether Clemens lied under oath to the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee.

    "Roger's doing fine," Hardin said. "He just has to put up with (Committee chairman) Henry Waxman. He doesn't have a stress fracture. I'm just worried about Yao Ming."

    I am almost positive that in one of the tracks on Jay Z's new album (Blueprint 3) there is a reference to ''Novak Houston Rocket''.

    i dont remember where ive heard the rockets come up on tv, but i remember being like 11 yrs old watching the rockets play the knicks in the finals, and it was interrupted because O.J. simpson decided to slash some people and take off in a bronco, man i was pissed they went away from the game for that.
    Oh, so i had to switch up the radio to listen to the game, till they went back to it :mad:

    Asher Roth's "I love College" has Hakeem as a lyric. :p
