The energy not spent on the offensive end gives the players more to expend on the other end, too. But I would still like to see a faster pace and get more players involved in the offense.
I'm going to thank you for actually summarizing the clip instead of just posting and expecting people to watch it like most posters do. That said, I am also certainly concerned about the idea of just putting three players, no matter how individually talented, together and expecting it all to sort itself out. I certainly do not expect our coach to work it out at all. I guess I'll just hope that Morey's obsession with "three stars" over the years actually does have the data behind it for it to just work out if he can make it happen.
Why do the National media hate Houston? We’re the 4th largest city and 5th largest metropolitan area. It’s not a bad thing if we win. They love LA, Miami, San Francisco and NYC. it’s really unfair to us because the bias is apparent.
I told people before any of this Butler stuff became public that the entire thing about CP3 and Harden was the LA media trying to influence Butler to stay away from Houston. It didn't work and now they're desperately trying to smear the whole thing to hurt our chances before we have a chance to talk to him.
I can tell you one thing though he will not stand for is Harden just chilling while someone else has the ball. I'm most excited about this aspect
CP3 - Harden - Butler - Tucker - DeAndre looks better than CP3 - Harden - Gordon - Tucker - Capela to me. But how are we gonna fill the bench would be the key.
It's really simple. Paul needs to handle the ball whe he's in the game. Harden needs to play a different style of basketball. D'Antoni needs take some refresher courses on how to coach.
Harden / CP3 isolation plays are exhausting for either, so not sure why this supposedly conserves energy and is easier to maintain than a faster pace. Aside from arguably a style that is wearing down on our stars, it doesn’t give his teammates juice to play the best defense they can. I would hate to play in this stand around system and would definitely not work my hardest when coach doesn’t stimulate movement so I can do something with the rock. See, this is what people who support Harden iso don’t get: when he passes it off, you give it to a player who cannot create for himself. That is why our possessions fail aside from an occasional Gordon drive when Harden passes it off. Butler can create so that’s a positive, but without serious changes to our play style I think it’s legitimate to have concerns.
