Some more: Insomniac With Dave Attell. I don't get it. I really liked this show. First, Attell is hilarious on it particularly because it's spontaneous (fyi, he was the guy Carl Weathers casted to play Tobias in AD). Second, he goes and sees some of the touristy and not so touristy stuff in each city which is interesting and entertaining. And finally, he does some serious bar hopping in each episode which is a must anytime I travel to a new place. Unfortunately it only ran for one or two seasons. And don't confuse this w/ that stand-up tour thing they did on Comedy Central. This is like the travel channel, but instead of cute, perky Samantha Brown you get fat, drunk Attell making much more inappropriate jokes. And along those lines, I also love No Reservations. Some love or hate Bourdain...count me in as one of those people who would definitely have a beer or 5 w/ him.
Haha, you'd probably be doing more than that! I remember him joking lightly on basic cable about coke. That man puts my addictive personality to shame. I so agree with you entirely.
Really?? I find MadTV to be unwatchable. Probably one of the least funny comedy shows I've ever seen. I don't think I've even let out a chuckle while watching that show. Heck, I'd almost rather watch House of Payne.
lmao, I think you reacted the same way about my comment to athletes going to clubs... lighten up francis... *note to self, some people get sensitive when the joke is turned on them* as for Gilmore Girls, sure its ghey, but the writing was very underrated and didn't cater to the lowest denomination crowd, ie South Park fans. You don't get attached to it watching it just one time but slowly grows on you if you followed it. I first watched it because the mom/daughter combo were easy on the eyes, then the show started growing on me.
This is a show probably most of you have never heard of... Undeclared. It had one season on Fox. It was written by Judd Apatow and you should already know how good his work is.
had a VERY young Seth Rogan starring in it also btw, my vote goes to Off Centre short run show on WB back in 01-02 from the Weitz brothers that did American Pie, About A Boy, funny what a Google search can find, apparently all of the episodes are viewable on AOL's website http://video.aol.com/video-category/off-centre/103186
The Big Bang Theory - it's new, so hard to call it underrated yet, but I think it's the funniest show on TV The Critic - great show, but I don't think I've seen all of it The Live-Action Tick - absolutely hilarious King of Queens - I loved this show, and IMO it was the best sitcom on after Seinfeld and Frasier left the air The Bernie Mac Show - I don't watch it religiously, but if it's on, I watch it and I always love it Cedric the Entertainer - I don't remember it too well, but I recall really enjoying it when it was on, and being disappointed when it was over The Man Show - Kimmell and Corolla were the best Spin City - Caught it on re-runs and loved it Just Shoot Me - Also on re-runs
one more vote for the big bang theory, also kaley cuoco, is a hottie, and she is very underrated too. Mad About you, (very funny) I dont know how big is in the US, but Dr. House is a very good show. Las Vegas, I like it very much. Dead like me, was an awesome show. and what do you think about the tv show: "My Boys" I started to watch it, and its quite good, I like it. I watch that show too sometimes
definitely remember this show. Had John Cho right after his American Pie days. The brotha on the show moved on to star on Eve's TV show on UPN.
Sorry, color me a cynic but I never liked Donna and her mannish frame. Ashton Kutcher sucked too. Mila Kunis is maybe-kinda-ok-type-hot, but her character brought nothing and was just generally annoying. Friends, 70's Show are formulaic. Predictable. They bore me. I understand why people like them though, the characters are well developed and good foils for irony-type humor and gag laughs. There are worse things in life, but I'd prefer something a little wittier.
MadTV had a good chemistry going when it was Aries Spears, Nicole Sullivan, Michael McDonald etc. It has been pure crap since, and it is a shame to compare it something so tenured as SNL, finalsbound. SNL ain't what it used to be but it has been leaps and bounds better, consistently, than MadTV.
Agree on all your points. In fact That 70's Show could actually be all the Friends in their teens. Great comparison. Easy laughs for easy to please people.
Of course SNL is tenured, but that doesn't mean it's been watchable lately. Have you seen the first couple seasons of MadTV? It was hilarious back then. It's crappier now, but SNL has sucked for years. I watch SNL hoping I'll laugh, and I do at maybe a quarter of the skits. Lame and tired. MadTV is not what it used to be, but at it's best it's better than the last decade of SNL.
