SHe was on track to become a megastar after kickass perfomrances in Party Girl and House of yes (prior to the Guest films) in the mid-90's, then (I have heard) she decided to stay with the indies thing intentionally and work now and then rather than making a full-time push to become a big-budget leading lady. So she just does the character roles now as she's sort of settled into that niche. She apparently owns a walkup somewhere on 12th street in the East Village - I've never seen her walking around though.
Aaron Eckhart, who was so f@#$ing good in The company of men he made me dislike him for the character he played in that movie. But other movies I've seen him in shows how versatile he can be. Even though this is mostly about "actors" I would put Linda Fiorentino as possibly one of the five most underrated actors male/female in the last 15 years.
