Brian Dennehy Robert Davi, that dude with the messed up face who said "how about the United States F*ck*n' Government?" in Die Hard... He's always playing FBI dudes... The Senator guy who is always playing either Chiefs of police or some top dude, he was in Die Hard... I forget which one... Gary Busey. I love his "'Cuz I got something YOU DON'T... it's called RESPECT!" speech in Point Break. Raymond Cruz, Damian Chapa, Benjamin Bratt, Jesse Borrego - El Chuy, El Miklo, Paco, Cruzito, all in Bound By Honor... mainly El Chuy, who came out in Con Air, Clear and Present Danger, and Under Siege. El Miklo was also in Under Siege. There's a bunch more I know that don't get recognition... I gotta think about them...
I will second William Shatner, he is creating a very good secondary niche for himself right now. My new man-crush is on Bob Saget. The man is perhaps one of the sickest creative minds out there.
Have you seen his website? http://www.jeffbridges.com/ I love that it looks hand-drawn. Great photography there too.
Yes. No. I'll add Paul Bettany, Alan Tudyk and Josh Lucas ...and it's nice to see Don Cheadle, Tobey Maguire and Jake Gyllenhal starting to get their due.
William H. Macy-great in "The Cooler" Edward? Platt-in several movies-excellent Andre' Braugher-actor from "Homicide Life on the Street" Carla Gugino-good in "Karen Frisco" TV series- stunning in "Sin City" Pam Grier- awesome in Jackie Brown
Sorry - I meant Oliver Platt- he has been in many movies -so versatile. I think Edward Platt was an old school character actor
My vote goes to Bob Hoskins. If you want to see range, just look at him as Eddie Valiant, in "Who Framed Roger Rabbit?" and as Bart, in "Jet Li, Unleashed."
My first thought was Eric Bana, but obviously (at least from this thread), he is appreciated. Don Cheadle also comes to mind, but he's been getting his due lately. The fact that Val Kilmer isn't labled a God after his work in Tombstone and The Doors means he is underrated (even if he has been in some turds). Even though he hasn't had any real breakout roles (and he always seems to be in chick flicks), I like Mark Ruffalo. Also, I have to give some love to Kate Winslet, Natalie Portman and Jennifer Connelly. They are all well appreciated......just not quite well enough.
You know that reminds me. Him and Robert Downy Jr. are definitely underrated. But they both have checkered pasts that have hindered them (Kilmer with his rumored shooting difficulties and Downy with his drug problems). But from what I hear both are outstanding in Kiss, Kiss, Bang, Bang.
I tend to think she's been underutilized in those films. The ones where she has a starring role is where she shines, clockwatchers, party girl...etc.
she does a good job in Guest's films .....shes a good character actor my favorite role of hers was in Best In Show, even though it was very over the top
