I also imagine it could shatter the confidence of AB. I mean ****, you just handed him the keys to the team 7-8 weeks ago. You had confidence then, now you don't? Could break AB's little tiny miniscule itty bitty heart.
Lowry has been outplaying Brooks by far. But I like the Lowry/Wafer combo in the backcourt off the bench and I think Brooks can handle Blake to start the game. But if Adelman starts Lowry let's just let the results speak for themselves.
Ya but, If Lowry is better then Brooks (like most people agree on), why start Brooks at all? Lowry Gives us more as a starter Brooks gives us more coming off the bench.... I guess coach wants Wafer being the bench scorer?
Maybe Adelman read Charley Rosen's preview article stating that Brooks will be unable to "contain" Steve Blake?
Lowry couldn't even make 2nd string in Memphis. There is no way he's a ligit starter. What numbers do you have to back that up?? Can he start for a team, yes. For that matter Tyron Lue could start for a team, but it doesn't make him ligit.
If these are our two PG's going into next season it makes much more sense for Lowry to start and for Brooks to come off of the bench. Brooks is better when he is looking for his own shot. I think he is thinking to much because he feels like he has to get Yao his touches. He just seems uncomfortable and this is not the right time for that.
I think Brooks is a better scorer than Lowry. With Lowry as a starter, the focus will be to get the ball to Yao. Aaron Brooks can fire away in the second unit, it is perfect. We can get that 22 points off the bench explosion we have have not seen in a while from AB...
Mike Conley is a starter as well, and is going to be very, very good. He was putting up 15-5-5 with 2 steals and 2 threes for the last 2-3 months of the season.... Kyle Lowry was a starter for half the year, and backed up Conley for the other half....
I feel the same way about Brooks.Lowry is better than him, although he needs a lot of experience and continuing success before becoming a legitimate starter in the league in my opinion.
Ya, thats what i mean. Brooks is a better scorer than Kyle. But i was wondering if maybe RA does not want Brooks to take away from Von, coming off the bench? idk
Can anyone remember a team switching the starting lineup the first game of the playoffs? Maybe this is a bait and switch. Then again i wont give Adelman that much credit.
Oh I got you. Hmm, had not considered that. I think AB, Von, and Carl will be scary in the second unit... LET THE 3 BALLS RAIN! I think Kyle Lowry's IQ, will help when trying to beat the inevitable front. His driving ability could also help in that situation...
If true, not a good time to experiment. Confidence plays a huge roll. No way you do this to Brooks, not now at least.
Ron won't be in the game with the second unit. AB, Von, and Hairy Barry can shoot the JIMMY without restraint...
No way this happens right now. I can understand (and hope) that Brooks minutes are decreased and Lowry plays more but you don't bench your starter in game 1 of the playoffs.
Couple weeks ago, I said something similar where I think the Rockets can do all the way but it all depends on which Brooks and which Artest we get for the playoffs.
I hope that this true. A couple of reasons: 1. I read somewhere on here where he compared Lowry to a Bob Sura, minus the 3 pt shot. I agree. Lowry is a heady PG, who picks and chooses his spots, and runs the offense better than Brooks. With Yao, Scola and Artest, Lowry would be ideal as the starting PG, as, he's not trigger happy unlike how Brooks is. Let Lowry post up against Blake and see what happens. 2. The second unit is going to be a mix of Hayes, Landry, and Wafer. Brooks off the bench makes up for Hayes offensive disabilities, and him and Wafer can provide a solid scoring punch. With no post game really with this second unit, let Brooks do his thing which is penetrate. He'll have more free reign, as opposed to when he's a starter, where his main objective, even though he doesn't really do it, is to feed Yao. 3. With Brooks off the bench, let his speed negate Rudy Fernandez's speed.
