What you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul
Wow. Just wow. Look up the numbers kid. Andre is a HOF, Smith isn't. Andre changes the game for the Texans. Have you seen the Kubiak offense without Dre? Stacked boxes, more blitzing, and less worried defenses. You prove yet again, that you are an idiot.
I said "AT THEIR BEST"... I wasn't speaking of production over their careers. Steve Smith is a triple crown winner... And yes I have seen the offense without Dre. The first year we made the playoffs and Foster and Tate were beasting out and Jacoby and Walter was the receivers when Dre was standing on the side line.
So yesterday we get this crazy babble about Aaron Donald's incredibly long, yet shorter than average arms and today we get nonsense about Andre Johnson not being a "generational talent" and not being better than Steve Smith or Arian Foster? What the hell is going on around here?
Just the <strike>two</strike> six of <strike>us</strike> y'all. <strike>They can make it if they try.</strike> Remii endoftheworld HTown_DieHard Bobbythegreat Old Man Rock tmacfor35
You are so dense... When someone says "a player lacks ideal height, but has long arms"... You are not comparing his arms to the "average player at that position".. That makes zero sense. For donald's size, his arms are long. He is 6'1, but has the wingspan of someone who is 6'4. It has nothing to do with the "average size of the position"... That's your spin job to try to save face because you consistently are proven wrong.
A.J. Green has only been in the league for 3 years and he has 3 seasons with over 1000 yards receiving and he has 29 TDs so far in his career (Dre only has 61 TDs for his entire career) and he has freaking Andy Dalton throwing him the ball and has never had a great running back like Foster. A.J. has also been doing that in a harder defensive conference. He's what you call a generational receiver like Calvin. But hey, we all have our opinions. No need to be rude. Just like you "THINK" Dre is like Calvin.
Awesome. He still has short arms for the position and he's undersized. He can be happy that his wingspan is more than his height, but it's irrelevant to this conversation. Donald has short arms for a DT and is very undersized for a DT. End of the story.
Absolutely we all have opinions but some are pretty terrible. BTW, what WR has the most seasons with 90+ yards per game? Jerry Rice, obviously with 6 Who is second? Oh that's right, it is Andre Johnson with 5 isn't it? Calvin Johnson is stuck on 3 right now but I have no doubt that he'll eventually take the record. Steve Smith's 2 is pretty impressive as well. Andre Johnson is BY FAR the most dominant WR of his generation and it's not even close. Take into consideration that he had to deal with David Carr for almost half his career and it's even more impressive.
90 plus receiving yard games dont win games _ TDs do... Nice way to find a meaningless stat to try so support your argument.
I just pointed out that A.J. has Dalton. Dre has had Schaub and Foster throughout his prime years and he didn't ball like A.J.... And A.J. is still a young pup...
LOL, so it comes back to "just winz"? When you are moving the ball more than 90 yards per game, you are a dominant WR. TD's are flukey and don't indicate who was the better WR. For example, in 2012 when Calvin Johnson broke the receiving yards record, James Jones had almost 3 times as many TD's as him......would anyone in their right mind say that James Jones was the better WR that year? Of course not.
You're dancing. I mentioned Steve Smith who is a triple crown winner and helped carry Jake Delhomme to the super bowl and I mentioned A.J. Green. But here you are trying to say A.J. Green's touchdowns are flukey by using James Jones as an example.... So are you trying to say A.J. Green is a fluke, a guy who already has two seasons with double digit TDs when Dre has NEVER had one...??? And Dre got alot of those 90 plus receiving yards playing against prevent defenses because we were getting blown out, but I'm sure you don't take that under consideration.
You can't hold Dre's lack of TD's against him when his HC & QB were ultra conservative in the red zone.. How many fades were thrown to AJ over the last 8 seasons? I'm sure we can count them on 1 hand. It's a shame that kubiak's arrogance got in the way of Dre's greatness. Still, he never complained & did what was asked of him. He finally let some frustration out this season, and that's why it's so important for us to draft Bridgewater. Dre deserves a franchise qb, and i know Bridgewater & OB will get AJ to double digit TD's next yr. Dre is an all time great. He is a PRO. A conservative coach and mediocre qb held him back the past 8 seasons. TBH i think Dre can play at a high level for 3 more seasons.
I'm saying that A.J. Green's TD's are irrelevant, he could have 15 TD's a year and it wouldn't matter. The reason A.J. Green is seen as one of the top WR's in the league is because he's averaging over 80 yards per game for his career. TD's can say that you are a good red zone target, topping 90 yards per game shows you are consistently dominant, topping 100 yards per game shows you are having one of the greatest seasons by a WR ever no matter how many TD's you happen to catch.
He had 25 and 28 redzone targets in 2008 and 2009 and still didn't get double digit scores. But you are right, he has had years where he has hardly had any. He had 15 redzone targets this year. But A.J. Green only had 21 redzone targets this year and he has no franchise QB and still scored double digit TDs. Just imagine how much better his #s would be if he had a franchise QB. Dre is a great receiver but receivers like Calvin and A.J. are special. And I believe Sammy falls in that category. But if Dre wants to be in the H.O.F. he needs to pick it up these next few years and a super bowl appearance wouldn't hurt at all...
I guess you missed the part where I said A.J. has 3 seasons with over 1000 yards in his first 3 years to go along with those 29 TDs he has... He also had more receiving yards this year with less catches than Dre... And funny how you say TDs are irrelevant in a sport were you have to score to win...
