you guys are all nerds. every single one of you. SPOILER ALERT!!!!!!!!!!!!! next book you'll find out that harry potter is a homosexual.
Y'know, I know **** about Harry Potter, but those of you trying to justify it or play it off have got to be kidding me. Book, movie, whatever, nobody wants stuff spoiled for them that they are looking forward to. It's not that hard to figure out. Even if it is Harry freakin' Potter. Anyone who does it (or condones it) is a grade A dumbass.
Don't get me wrong, spoilers when you don't want them suck. I don't think it was the thread poster's intent at all, however, to maliciously post a spoiler.
Nobody wants spoilers. But, that's not what people are arguing here. It's candlegreen's initial post. Some people thought he gave ample warning while others are attacking him b/c of his misleading title. I don't think he had any malicious intent though.
How about a separate forum for movie, book, and TV show spoilers? It could be moderated by DanHiggsBeard... BTW, Darth Vader is Luke Skywalker's father...
Ahh, yes I'm disappointed that I read the spoiler in this thread as well...I saw the warnings...but I mean honestly, think about it. I'm a Harry Potter fan, and just knowing that the "big secret" is just a few scrolls of the mouse away, it's just too tempting to refuse. Although it wasn't the the thread starter's intent to ruin the book, he still did so.
C'mon now, you're telling me that one revelation ruined the entire 700-page book for you? You're just going to toss it in the trash and not read it now? And you reeeeaaaally didn't see it coming at all?
uh, so you knew it was a spoiler a few scrolls down, read it anyways, and blame him for ruining it for you?
I agree with that. I don't think it was the intention. I'm just amazed at people who don't seem to understand that people don't want spoilers. Or how much they ruin something a person is looking forward to.
I'm just waiting for a story like this to appear, but instead of "shopping mall" an "internet message board". Let's see, there are terrorist attacks in England and here y'all are with the audacity to complain about an ultra-glorified children's book being "ruined". Grow the f up and get over it. You have every right to be disappointed and maybe a little frustrated and angered, but don't be stupid enough to place blame on someone else. Congrats guys, you're helping me lose faith in humanity! EDIT: Does anybody else think it would be interesting if JK Rowling (gaaaawwwdddd forbid! ) well...died and never wrote the final chapter of the series?
HOW DARE YOU...??? HOW DARE YOU not warn me before you show me a SPOILER??? YOU SHOULD BE BANNED!!!!! AND... nice one.
You're making me lose faith in humanity's reading comprehension. The 'terrorist attack' thing does show we still have a gift for dramatics, though. Nobody should be blaming the thread starter for intentionally ruining anything. It wasn't done purposely. However, the responses are a different story. As this thread (and DHB's thread more importantly) shows, some folks don't understand a little common sense and respect that people don't like sh*t that they're interested in spoiled for them...even Harry Potter. And that makes me 'lose faith' because it only reinforces the number of stupid, assh**e people in the world.
