We tend to build in kill switches to certain functionalities in our advanced weapons. Think of Starlink or John Deere tractor software but with weapons. What Portugal and others are saying is that they can't trust the US to not hamper European defense through those mechanisms, so better to buy local. They are right. We are no longer trustworthy and thus, neither are our weapons.

I note that the deliberate disinformation came from a Washington Post writer, not the administration. I think everyone wants the fighting to stop - except Putin. But if you end up capitulating to him, hoping it will satisfy his desire for conquest, you risk a continuing and even larger conflict. This administration might not fully buy into that thinking, but Europe does. And because of that, I doubt there will be any stopping until Putin is stopped. Unfortunately, that can only happen through military and economic force or a united defense front that Putin doesn’t dare challenge. But that united front is cracking, which could embolden him. Instead of accepting a peace proposal, he may push harder to break it wide open and seize more land.
This keeps getting repeated but is constantly ignored by Russian Peaceniks -- Putin isn't a damn victim in any of this. Expecting him to stop at crimea and the donbas is lazy and naive. We all want peace, but it has to be a winning situation with guarantees the violence will stop. You make it painful for him to want it to stop, and you add enforcement riders to make sure he does in the future. Putin won't agree to any of that if you give him the keys to the kingdom. Bad parenting tactics to give the brat everything but with love and care, and that **** certainly doesn't fly if you lived in pure white Russia...

Spain is an amazing place and id definitely move there. Im currently in Denmark but was close to choosing Spain. Valencia or the SE coast is cheap and peaceful. Low crime, low cost of living, beautiful beaches and women. Good schools as well

NATO soldiers will not be stationed in Ukraine unless its NATO soldiers dying on the battlefield. That is just completely stupid
Peacekeeping force (from some European nations and whoever else want to participate) to protect peace in POST-WAR Ukraine. If you are sure Putin will maintain peace, there is nothing to worry about. If you aren't, then this is one way to help maintain peace.
