It was widely reported he was set to sign it the other day before Trump kicked him out for doing the egregious act of explaining that Putin violates agreements so the security guarantee has to come from more than just trust in Putin. Of course he’s still willing to sign it because that would mean Trump folds in his theatrical temper tantrum playing to the audience of pro Putin anti democratic people around the world who prefer corrupt “strong” men like Putin to democracies. Trump signing the existing proposal would make Trump look weak because he threw that tantrum for nothing.

The cold war ended when the Soviet Union did. Many people tend to forget, or not know how disconcerting this time was. Nor the close calls which would have ended humanity as we know it. Trump is essentially aiding in the formation of that same Soviet Union and as a result could end in the most dire of consequences. Trump will be long gone by then, what a lasting legacy. The billions of dollars worth of junk that the USA is sending is a very meager price to pay to keep the status quo, instead of going back to those dreadful times. If the Soviet Union or any resemblance of one comes to fruition, they will cease to be the paper tiger that they are and they will wipe out the world before collapsing again.
