Russia is increasingly looking toward Iran for some kind of arms breakthrough to get this under control. But right now it just seems the Russian armed forces are being outgunned AND outmaneuvered by a Ukrainian force who had been battered but not broken.
Russia getting a taste of their own medicine is beautiful maybe someone will step up and take down Putin for the good of that country and the world. DD
Is there any way they can flank the Russian forces on the front lines from behind now that they are in Russia?
The wargaming that I've read today said a strategy would be to press from the rear because the fortifications in front of the Russians will act like a wall. But honestly, I am just watching this unfold and have no idea where it is going to go.
Enclosing their forces, cutting off supplies and encircling them would end it......Russia would have to surrender or risk loosing 300k+ men as they run out of food and ammo. DD
Russia will likely retaliate directly against Kyiv with the hundreds of ballistic missiles that it loaned from Iran this past week. If it does, I expect Iran to be given the green light by Russia to copy the attack against Israel.
Today, General Oleksandr Syrskyi lifted that lid just a little bit to indicate that the Ukrainians have taken more Russian territory than earlier thought. Ironically, reporting by Russian sources which some thought were overstating the reach of the Ukrainian effort have actually turned out to be true. The Ukrainians are moving fast: Most analyst maps had not considered the key town of Suzdha taken. But it would appear the Ukrainians took it two or three days ago and have moved well past it as they drive deeper into Kursk Oblast.
The Russians actually pay for the stuff, though. Top-of-the-line Russian jets, nuclear technology, etc. They payed a ton along those lines for the junky Shaheed drones and a handful of balistic missiles.
