The US vetoed getting MiGs to Ukraine early on. Poland wanted to hand over a bunch of them and Ukraine even sent pilots to get them and the US killed the deal at the time. Early on, I don't think there's any argument that we weren't slow-playing armaments for whatever reasons - whether because we didn't think Ukraine could make good use of them, didn't want to antagonize Russia, or whatever else. We've always known we would provide better weapons and it would help Ukraine more and that has proven true - we just did it very slowly and that has been costly to Ukraine. But at this point, the admin has become much more willing to provide advanced weaponry. The House GOP is the only hold up.
enough to maintain, not enough to win. the problem with Biden's "strategy" (or is it Blinken's?) is that winning is not part of it. Ukraine had a window, which has now closed.. whether it will reopen, is hard to say, but Biden's incrementalism ensured that Ukraine could not be successful in either the spring or fall offensives.
Pure conjecture. Pure conjecture. And in either case, the House GOP is wanting to offer neither enough to win or to maintain. They prefer losing.
It's not just Biden, the Germans were even worse. I am still not convinced that Scholz is not a Russian agent.
Every last Ukrainian could be dead and you would still blame it on politicians for not war mongering enough.
Selling our old equipment to them as a Lend Lease - is not war mongering it is good business and it weakens our biggest enemy. DD
Please don't pretend you care about Ukrainians, given that they have independently chosen to fight for their lives and freedoms and you want the world to sit by while they die. No one is making them stand up to Russia - they chose that. Our choice is to help them or not. Your answer is to let them die (while posting every piece of Russian propaganda you can find and saying you don't support Russia).
Biden and Senate Republicans want to continue supporting Ukraine. House Republicans want to pull the plug on Ukraine. Has Germany pulled the plug yet?
Germany tends to talk about helping and then doesn't deliver...delay, delay, delay... I wish the whole West had not been so hesitant and incremental. They should have backed them with full force early on.
MIC and their politician spoke persons have conned gullible Americans into thinking the Chinese/Russians/Terrorists are going to be driving a tank up their street any minute unless we give the MIC $500 billion - $800 billion a year. Now the schtick is the global economy will collapse and never adjust unless the United States pays to keep every border in the world in stasis from now until the end of time. So dumb.
