The other countries are not the most powerful and wealthiest country on this planet. Interesting how a decade ago it went from 'We need to be more like Europe' to 'WGAF, everyone else has the same problem'.

Please point out where I said anything about ignoring the rest of the world. kthx

Putin already spent billions "modernizing" his military in the last 10-15 years. Too much corruption led to where they are today.

So the main difference would be that this "new modernization" effort has more accountability because they're using material and ordinance right away than stockpiling it for a stat page.

Also, the shortages in cannon fodder (low birthrate) and advanced chips will play a role in making them adjust to whatever split supply chain the chinese are doing. Most likely the hand me downs of their global supply chain.

Chinese industrial pecking order: state ordered national security items (aerospace/defense), western retail chains like Walmart/target, 2nd tier or less products for domestic consumption (lesser consequences for defective products), embargoed/sanctioned nations like N Korea, Russia, Iran...

Sorry I didn’t see this earlier. I’ve stated before
That it wouldn’t surprise me if there was Beijing the scenes discussions along with peace proposals. Again though the only sides they can really make peace are the Ukrainians and Russians. Neither side appears seriously interested in it.
