This was posted on page 4 of this thread from February https://www.cnn.com/2022/01/21/politics/blinken-lavrov-geneva-meeting-ukraine/index.html Blinken warns any Russian 'invasion' of Ukraine would be met with a 'severe and a united response' following Lavrov meeting Biden mangled some stuff like he does but the Biden Administration had been making it clear that there would be consequences to a Russian invasion while those wouldn't be direct US or NATO troop involvement, although they made clear any incursion into NATO territory would be met by force, but that there would be military and other aid along with heavy sanctions on Russia if they did.
This is again why much of these criticisms can't be taken seriously except as partisanship. Biden is to blame for not being clear about a response to an invasion of Ukraine. Biden is to blame because ambiguity would be better.
With the Russian 'evacuations' over the past week it occurred to me that Russia may be getting ready to use a nuke. Now they've started this rhetoric where they 'think' 'Ukraine will use a dirty nuke in their own country on Russia' This may get very scary soon.
the problem of course, is that Biden was clear about the wrong thing, i.e. the US would not send troops to assist Ukraine.
Putin after taking over Kherson started moving Russian national citizens in … I guess to Russia-nize his conquest. These Russian citizens are the ones I suspect that were the first to be evacuated. Even with the evacuations there will likely be a significant number of Russian soldiers that will be left to die or surrender. There will be a tipping point where there will not be enough soldiers to hold the lines … followed by a mad dash to the ferries … which will stop running once the Ukrainians start shelling them. This will not end well for the Russians.
There were 15 on the ground killed. The cause is unknown, but likely, in my opinion, poor maintenance due to an overworked support crew, lack of spare parts, and the aircraft being pushed to it's limits. The world's "second most powerful military" should have never been put in this situation. My guess is that tens thousands of that military now possess a deep hatred of Vladimir Putin, the former KGB colonel who is the most dangerous example of the "Peter Principal" the world has been exposed to in the post-Cold War era, in my opinion. The little dictator just might see no limits to what he will do in order to achieve his "victory." I hope there are those in Russia willing to put an end to his madness before he completely destroys the relative peace that has existed across Europe for the last 75 years that was purchased with so much blood, so much death, so much destruction. What we are seeing in Ukraine, as horrifying as it is, is but a taste of what Putin could bring not only upon the rest of Europe, but across the Atlantic as well. In my opinion.
This is such a transparent attempt to set up a false flag. Who in Ukraine, NATO or anyone else has rallied about using a dirty bomb against Russian forces?
Russian taken prisoner. Says the usual stuff, "blah, blah, don't come to Ukraine, Putin is a cuck, etc." But my God this dude is high as balls. Meth or something. Would probably do a fantastic job if you asked him to clean your apartment right about now. I don't think he blinks once during the 42 second clip. They don't get into whether he was a willing consumer or whether he was provided by the military, but I have read a couple of accounts of Russian doctors injecting Mobiks with strong opiates for nervousness which seems like a bit of overkill. Wouldn't surprise me if they're giving the cannon fodder strong drug cocktails in hopes of making Berserkers or something.
You're now aligned with both The Squad and MAGA. That's not a good thing. Also an amusing part of this: https://www.dailykos.com/stories/20...gressives-join-the-crazy-MAGA-cult-on-Ukraine This is beyond naive, stupid and irresponsible. Let us count the ways: This is Ukraine’s war with Russia. The idea that the United States can waltz in and dictate terms to a foreign country would validate every accusation that Ukraine is America’s puppet, and validate tankie claims that the United States is an imperialistic power that can dictate the world order. Very ironic, indeed, from a caucus that bills itself as committed to anti-imperialism. The United States and Biden, along with our European allies, engaged in a strong diplomatic effort to prevent this war from starting in the first place. A lack of Western and American diplomacy isn’t what’s keeping the war going, it’s that Russia has zero interest in anything resembling honoring Ukraine’s territorial integrity. It has literally “annexed” four Ukrainian provinces it doesn’t even occupy, along with Crimea, which it annexed back in 2014. You think Russia is going to willingly surrender territory it considers part of Russia itself?
There is no antiwar movement in DC at all anymore, but I think regular people will see through it. https://theintercept.com/2022/10/25/house-progressives-letter-russia-ukraine-diplomacy/ Spoiler
From TASS, when you come on strong out of the gate with "de-NAZIfication", what do you do when you need to kick it up? They got all the Nazis, but rhey've just discovered a new, more urgent problem...
If this ends up becoming a nuclear war, I really dont give a rats ass about Ukraines sovereignty. They are not a NATO nation. And I really don't care if your favorite boogiemen supports peace. I am not going to be a partisan hack. I am anti-war regardless which party becomes the war mongering party. Very hard concept for you. When you start caring about all the current wars and past wars that had no impact on the US, then feel free to open the dialogue.
In the Czech Republic, an unknown person turned the pedestal of the monument to the Red Army into a washing machine This installation is located in the town of Litomerzyce. Mass looting by Russian servicemen in Ukraine became one of the symbols of this war. Support| Telegram Facebook | Twitter
