Ukraine: Oligarchs Running Amok & More Powerful than Ever Before

Just read the article about the Ukrainian minister of economy resigning as protest to the endemic corruption in Ukraine.

The New York Times article talked about the compromise the Ukrainian government made with the oligarchs in which the oligarchs get to keep their ill gotten $$ & get appointed as high level government ministers or regional governors and in exchange the oligarchs will have to create, fund & manage their own private militias to help fight against Russia........................ what can possibly go wrong with such a deal

So now the same old oligarchs from the previous regime now still have their money, are now governors with their own little fiefdoms, have an even easier time siphoning $$ from the state and now have government sanction private armies to protect their own interests.
