So how much net value would black women hold on average when you take out Oprah?

I definitely agree about the crisis with too many young black men going to prison instead of college, but it doesn't change the fact that black women are still worse off financially than black men. From a different article on the same study:

"The median salary for a black women working full-time is $31,035 annually, compared to $35,652 for black men"

I guess I'm looking at total numbers and not averages. but it would still seem to me if you took the pool of all black men who are in the criminal justice system and unemployed and employed vs. the total of black women, the averages would favor black women.

but I don't have numbers to back my opinion

A few hundred dollars extra a month makes a huge difference once all the bills are paid. I learned that after being furloughed.

That's actually a good point, as far as did the study include black men that were either in jail or unemployed. That is a LARGE number.
