Ann Richards blocked that but thats a story for another day Man I wish we could have had A&M on our schedule and played them in Reliant. Big crowd and a big win for the Coogs.
Iowa State was in the Big 12 when it was originally the Big 8, so I don't think they're going anywhere. If we run the table this season, then maybe we can talk about jumping to a BCS conference, but I still don't see it happening. I guess the best bet is for C-USA as a whole to get better and keep playing good non-conference schedules like UH vs. Tech/Ok St and Memphis vs. Ole Miss and UCF vs. Texas. IF the conference as a whole starts winning games like that, we'll get more respect, making UH much more of a respectable program.
It was more Bob Bullock than AR. A&M will never play UH, too much to lose. Plus it'll piss off their daddy in Austin.
Whats the story behind it? Im interested to know. I hope UH runs the table this year...I would love to see them get in the SEC or Big 12 some time soon...
SEC and Big 12 is a dream. Look at their facilities. Look at UH's facilities. Look at their fan support. Look at UH's fan support. Look at their budget. Look at UH's budget. A MWC with Boise, UH, and one more school to get to 12 and a champ game is more realistic.
Rumor was the Big 12 wanted UofH back in 96 or whenever it formed and at the time Baylor was left out but Ann Richards put over 10mil to build up the facilities to get in over UofH. Not sure if its true but that was the rumor when the Big 12 formed.
